Hori Pre-Order Site (FS Stick & Fighting Edge)

Hori Unveiled the Fighting Edge stick today, which you can check out (and pre-order) at the Hori Online Store.

You can also pre-order the VF5 Final Showdown stick for $140 + shipping.

Here's a list of the features for the Fighting Edge Stick (MSRP is $199.99)

• Hori's new stick and buttons that are supposedly really good. (Not an RAP)
• Tournament Mode: You can disable Start/Select
• Can remap pretty much any button that's not the stick. They've branded their new buttons, "Kuro" (that means black, right?)
• Side LEDs which you can turn on or off. OOH, TRON FIGHTING STICK!

It also has an endorsement from Sako.

Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown RAP

The VF5 FS RAP seems like the latest edition RAPs? I'm not sure, I've been out of it. But basically RAP + some Mad Katz features, but Start button is closer to arcade layout which means some people can accidentally hit it easily?

That said, I will probably order a VF5 FS Stick

 

Fighting Edge is fuckign sick looking! as soon as i saw the video (in another post on vfdc) I insta pre-ordered it, im a sucker for LED lights .

now im selling my SF4 TE stick (any takers? hardly used, original awsome box and all)

 

I tried ordering the Fighting Edge for Xbox...there was an problem with the transaction. Anyone have the same problem?

 

couple weeks ago brisal hit me up to ask me to dual mod the new fs stick. anyways stick just came in.

By the way, any good arcade sticks for no more than $50. Doesn't have to be pro, just as long as it is fun.

The above link (the second one) is that a good stick, it got good reviews and doesn't break the bank all that much?

 

I personally dislike Hori Fighting Stick after 3 orders with no choices since PS2. The quality is not reliable and it's hard to fix it once broken.

The price is about 50% of FS stick, but you would have a second chance to buy another stick.

It most likely uses parts designed by Hori themselves similar to the ones inside the out of print EX2. The EX2 stick is of poor quality, some of the buttons tend to go out less than a year with extended use.

The reviews on the Amazon page are good, users say you can swap out buttons unlike the EX2. But for almost of all, it was their first stick.

If you are really on a budget I say go for it, honestly I would save up and get a stick with real arcade parts (Sanwa, Seimitsu)

 

Hey guys, Im contemplating on buying a Hori fighting edge, but has anyone gotten to test how the start-button disabling works in practise?

ps. the hori shop says the stick is in store, but I dont know if its true..

Also note that Hori is a major client/sponsor of Wednesday Night Fights, level-up, and level-up productions. Not to poison the well, but you should be aware before you make a purchase based on those recommendations.

I've owned several cheaper Hori joysticks and 2 RAP's. The cheaper one's buttons will start to go out within a year, RAP's stay good for quite a while. Both of them suffered from mushy joystick syndrome tho (eg high travel and throw). Also the sticks are way too close to the buttons.

Sounds like the stick in the fighting edge is great, and the buttons look good too. I don't know if the buttons will stay good. Looking at the disassembly in the level-up review though, they're standard sized and connected with quick disconnects which means replacing them will be very easy if they do go out. Buttons can be ordered from focusattack.com for 2 bucks each.

I think I'll probably pick this up just for the new stick they've developed and the touchscreen stuff they've added. Plus my madcatz TE is just a little... boring.

 

i also have the hori soul calibur 5 stick got it for 99 dollars with tax an shipping i got to say it one of the best sticks out there an it looks alot nicer in person i like it alot better then the madcatz one its heavy duty an got every feature now im waiting for my hori fighting edge cant wait.....
