How do I get to Edit Character in the Japanese rip?

The File option is missing from the Main Menu in VF4E. Can anyone tell me how to create and edit a fighter?
Further, is there already a transcription of the menu system out there?
I have a Japanese translator at work who will help make one with me if someone can tell me the best way to share it with the community.
(Unfortunately that doesn't help me right now since I called in sick so I could play VF4E).

Go into quest mode and choose your character.
After the arcade map loads up you can press Start for the menu. Edit is the first option.

 

There is nothing here now, have you tried some of the PS2 fan/news sites sometimes they post translations for games.

Sorry about any redundancy, I am new to newsgroups in general, and am trying hard to refine my search skillz...

So, let's say I do put together a complete transcript of the menu system... what do I do with it so that others (in the USA) can find it easily? (and not invite sarcastic remarks re: who's this new dumbass?)

Side note: I love AI training, but I could never find any online insight into this gentle art... any pointers???
