How do people record videos?

Ive seen peoples videos of tons of console games. Like Halo 2 and 3, VF5, DOA4, and others. How is this done?

 

Capture card.

 

Can I get a better explanation as to how that works?

You can always pull a Bang-Bus and get a hand-held.

 

Can I hook up my 360 through a VCR and record it that way? I can get a cable fairly cheap that will let me put a VHS tape on the pc.

 

probably cause thats what i use to do for my ps1.

 

Cool. This pc blows complete ass so I dont know how well a capture card would work anyway.

 

Sorta OT: Halo 3 allows you to upload videos through XBL if I'm not mistaken. I have Halo 3, but I didn't feel like playing against a bunch of obnoxious adolescents so I haven't really checked it out.

I assumed VF5 had a similar feature. Just use you're celly in a well lit room.

 

Halo 3s videos are only viewable on the 360 though.
