I position my palm around the ball -- where my palm usually is anyway. /versus/images/icons/smile.gif

I put my stick between my ring and pink finger and I start jerkin' it. /versus/images/icons/smile.gif

    That sounds so wrong. /versus/images/icons/crazy.gif

It normally position my palm a bit left under the ball
    (Wine glass holding style)
I think it gives me best precision

Usually I put my palm over the ball, and close my fist over it, with the stick between my fingers.

Note that since I play only 3-4 times at an arcade a year, I'm not really a reference...

Seriously, I put the joystick between my ring and pinky finger. I rely more on wrist motions more than whole arm movement. I also find the wine glass tech. very good at doing DLC's and Spod's, very precise.

Yeah, I also use the wine glass technique with my thumb just touching the top of the ball. First time I heard of holding a stick with your palm up I was about to laugh, but once I tried it out it honestly did work very well.
