how do you hold your stick?

your arcade stick, that is /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

i'm curious how people set themselves up when playing on the console.

i usually alternate between two positions:

    1. vegetative position lounging on my bean-bag with stick resting on my knees.

    2. sitting on a low stool with stick resting on coffee table.

no 1 is more relaxing but feels a little cramped. no 2 gives me more room but always results in a sore back after an hour or so.

i also find problems with the base of the stick moving about in both these positions.

has anyone come up with a definitive set-up for using their arcade stick at home? i was considering nailing the thing to a coffee table permanently. that would eliminate the dreaded slip but destroy a perfectly good coffee table /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Lol I thought this was another how to grab the stick question.

I prefer having it mounting/bolted to a cabinet (like LA Akira's set up) or ON THE FLOOR between my legs with nothing but mother earth under it.

No seriously I don't trust my lap or table, only the earth beneath me. I hate having my stick move on me.

I can play pretty much any style, but my quirk is that if I'm not warm enough I don't move around very well. I have cold hands at times and to remedy this I'd keep them in my pockets much like how a pitcher wraps his arm between innings. Poor circulation can lead to poor input.

I also do finger and hand exercises regularly to stay loose.

When I worked at Publix (grocery store in the South) I took 2 milk crates and duct taped them together on top of one another and then took my friends MAS stick and use 2 of those tie cables to strap the stick on top of the milk crates and sat in a regular chair and it was perfect height and VERY stable. Keep in mind this was for MvC 2 so there is a lot of mashing on supers and what not. If you can get the 2 milk crates or something similar I feel this may work best and it's what I plan on doing when I get my stick for this game.

Ive got it either on my lap or a small table. I have no problems with the thing moving about.
