How important are the fighting game trailers?

The trailers for the FGC are a way to generate hype for new announcements such as new characters. Street Fighter and Tekken have been doing this successfully over the years. Do you think a good trailer or intro generates press and hype among the community? Does it elevate each brand that know how to use this form of media? Would VF6 have such thing to market themselves without losing their hardcore essence?

 

Good trailers make the hardcore fanbase hype af. Just look at Super Smash Ultimate

 

Marketing and advertisement is extremely important - it's business 101 folks.

Here is a triggering realization - appeal to noobs making the game easy to learn, yet retain a unique personality that is the winning formula.

(Although you'd only have to hope that the essence of the game's depth is retained whilst making it shockingly more noob friendly than final showdown)
