how many japanese and koreans are in this forum?

I would assume few Japanese. There are WAAAY too many (very small) Japanese forums in their native language.

i assume that many japanese and korean want to join this forum but they kinda hesitate to post that's because their english skills...i really want everyone join this forum and share the ideas and informations..

how many? My guess is several thousand peep, but do not attempt to post, ever. Here in NYC most Korean and Japanese players do not join in any discussions. Many good VF4 players that I talk to at arcade visit here as non-members because they are shy. One of New York's best VF4 players is Korean gentleman with excellent English skills who prefers to remain a shadow here. Private message me if ever you wish to have feed-back on any English question relating to VF discussion and I will offer ideas for your consideration. I have a rudimentary understanding of both English/American and VF. (^^)

i'm korean. but i'm just an unknown scrub, who hasn't been in the arcade scene since the SF days...

I wonder if their translation tools work better than the ones we use to do japanese --> english? Because the tools for translating korean or japanese are too poor to really read boards. Maybe the tools for translating english ---> japanese are a bit better.

Do Japanese VF4 players have a similar centralised message board site?

 

From personal experience: If you know a little Japanese and get motivated enough to write a message in the message board in a Japanese gamer's homepage, even if it's just about you got a funny number in the hit counter in its title page, write your message in ro-maji. If you write it in English, few readers will understand it and almost all readers will ignore it. Unless you're at, say, Satomix's site. With ro-maji, at least you give them a chance to figure out what you're trying to talk about.

Heck, when I write in simple Japanese, with or without an Oosaka accent, I often get ignored as usual anyway. (_ _)

I don't go to Korean homepages, so I don't know if Korean Netters have the same attitude or reaction towards foreigners who appear to know Korean?

 

Unfortuntaely, there's definitely no Japanese counterpart to virtuafighter.com. There are hundreds of small BBS's with very few members... usually friends. My team/clan has a BBS that we post on, and some other non-members post as well.

Probably the BBS in japan w/ the most subscribers is Kyasao's (sorry, don't have the URL here, but if you can type Kyasao in japanese, you should be able to find it on Google.) Kyasao himself doesn't post too much, if at all.

 

i go to kyasao's site on a daily basis.
