In Evo, how exactly is the timing for [2_][6][P][P]? I can't get it done... The elbow never comes out. /versus/images/graemlins/confused.gif I tried to have thre comp do the move for me and check the command input, [6] is released before the second [P], but that doesn't seem to be all there's to it... /versus/images/graemlins/confused.gif

It's a bit tricky at first, but all you have to do is anticipate when the [2_][6][P] makes contact, then hit [P] again. Try to do it a fraction of a second before it touches the opponent. The timing is weird, but once you get it down, it's easy.

Wow, thanks Dre. Surprisingly easy if you know the timing /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Hope you don't mind, but I decided to move this sub-thread out of the "Akira in general" thread since your question is to do with Evo, and the thread was Ver.C specific.

I have this feeling this question might become as popular as "How do you do Akira's knee?" so that's another reason for the move.

Just to add to what DRE said, one thing I found that helped initially was practicing in free training with slow motion on to find out the timing. While looking/listening for queues, I found the grunt Akira makes for the SgPm, "huu", is just about the right timing for you to press [P] for the SDE. The grunt comes out just slightly before contact, and as you know the SgPm must guard or hit for the SDE to work.

Once you get it down pat in slo mo, go back to normal speed. After you get over the initial shock at how fast it all seems again /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif try to work on that timing with the grunt. When you're confident with normal speed timing, try it in a combo after a stomach crumble: SDE (MC) ~ etc.

    Like anything, keep practicing.
