VFDC wants to promote your tournament on the News Page. Here are the steps to getting an Announcement Post and a Watch the Stream Post (with countdown) for your event.

Get an Announcement Post on the News Page

    1) Schedule a tournament featuring VF5:FS as a main game
    2) Indicate if you'll have streaming*
    3) Provide an image that looks good at 450 px or less width
    4) Post your tournament details in Tournaments and Events
    5) PM Plague, Shag, or Akai and ask to be on the News Page

*If you have no stream, you'll get the Announcement Post when you PM about your event. If you add a stream after announcing, you will qualify for a Watch the Stream Post.

Get a Watch the Stream Post on the News Page

    1) Make sure you have streaming and a minimum of 16 players entered (commentary is a big plus, too).
    2) Go here to setup your countdown and get the HTML for it. Use the default settings.
    3) If you want a bracket link, provide the URL for your challonge.com bracket
    4) PM the HTML and link from steps two and three to Plague, Shag, or Akai no later than three days before your event.

Bonus: Get an Archive Link Update in place of your expired countdown.

    1) Get the archive URL to your tournament stream.
    2) If your tournament doesn't begin at the start of the archive, then include the start time in the URL. Here's an example with the start time code highlighted:
    http://www.twitch.tv/leveluplive/b/325420795?t=61m50s
Remember that different streaming sites likely use different start time codes.
    3) PM that link to Plague, Shag, or Akai within a day of tournament end.

If your event happens regularly, even weekly, like Wednesday Night Fights (WNF), you only need to follow the Announcement Post steps the first time. For every subsequent event, just follow the steps for a Watch the Stream Post. We will continue to use your original News Page image, just like we do for WNF.

Thank you! Your efforts will go toward growing your scene and getting Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown on the official games list for Evo 2013.
