How VF help us in real life?

After years of practice on VF when you have a very good reaction skill, what is good to do in real life that you discovered there's a different?

My friend told me that after he mastered VF with reaction skills and frame counting, they feel slow about lots of other fighting games, they may not know about the special moves and stuff of that game, but they can block a lot of stuff and win it with normal P and K with VFs observation skill.

Now I am wondering, beside games, what kind of things or sports can VF can help us in real life?

I find that after playing VF for all these years I have no trouble giving my joystick a good workout for hours at a time.

Before, I would sometimes have to stop for a break when my wrist was tired, but now I can hammer away on my joystick relentlessly!

I sometimes worry that I will be TOO strong and break my joystick.

one night, i was driving home on I-95 from a new jersey tournament with my friends, and a freaking DEER jumped out of nowhere! mind you, i must've been going 75 - 80 Mph. luckily, i managed to steer out of its way, missing it by a hair! my startled friends in the backseat were like,

    "HOLY SHIT! WTF WAS THAT?!?!?"

    i go,

    "A FUCKING DEER!!! >=O"

    then Yummy Dango goes,

"ALL THOSE YEARS OF PLAYING VF ACTUALLY PAID OFF!!!! WE WOULDA GOT PWND BY THAT DEER!"

    TRUE STORY.

I would say that learning to become good at VF brings with it some very tangible benefits that apply to lots of aspects of your life:

Discipline, observation, learning to see patterns, patience, sportsmanship, and improved reaction time are all good skills/virtues.

    Most importantly though,

Talkin' trash (Don't worry Darthminion, you'll figure out how to do it properly one of these days).

It helps us in the old "Spin around the stick x times and stumble across the line" pub game. Just use stagger recovery and you're Usain Bolt.

Same story happened to Falling Edge and I a couple weeks back. We didn't attribute it to VF but looking back... hmmm... very well could be thanks to VF. Haha.

On the real, I've lately switched my discipline with video games (namely VF and a few others) over to working out and being more active. Trying to apply my practice mentality of VF and stuff to other things I do and it's working out pretty well so far. As cheesy as that all sounds.

If something falls off my hands or if I accidentally knock something off a table, I grab it in the air so quickly that it doesn't even seem it was going to fall at all. I surely suck at VF but this is something that definitely comes from playing it a lot. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Yeah, thought that too... but then it could also be the fact that I was training TKD. Whichever it was, VF definitely helped improve my reflexes in games /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

It's funny but reversing or escaping takedowns and throws in real life also require that you recognize the technique early and apply the appropriate counter. Obviously, its not as easy as 4p+g or 2p+g but the concept is similar. Once it's started and they get you up in the air or into a compromising position, its tough to do anything about it.

Only thing I noticed different about my life since I started playing VF is this fuck off lump on my left elbow, VF kills your elbows!
