I can't get past 1st dan?

I don't get it. I just can't get passed 1st dan ranking. I've beaten a 10th dan Akira once. I've only faced him twice. My main character is Akira. But I also have a Shun, and Jacky at 1st dan, but I just can't get past that ranking with any of them. It realy tees me off. Every time I fight some one with a higher rank than 1st kyu I get my butt kicked. And than once that starts I start getting my but kicked by 7th kyu fighters. I just don't get it.

Dont sweat it man. In my opinion, the uprank from 1st Dan is the hardest. I was down for a few weeks before I actually passed it. Then I finally did and made it all the way to 10th Dan in one night of playing! Just be determined and keep trying and you'll eventually get it. Just spend some time in Free Training against the ones your having trouble with. Do Trial training at least once. Read up on some combos, sequences, and tactics.

Just grit your teeth through the tough ones and keep fighing.

 

If its any incentive, after 1st dan you breeze through the ranks ALMOST as fast as the kyu ranks

I kept at it for about a month with lion till I got past the dan rankings. Dont give up...

 

hmm. 2nd dan is hardest for me.

 

It's just a speed issue. Your eyes and hands have to catch up with
the increased speed of the Kumite 1st Dans. The CPU has no stradegy,
just increased awareness and reaction higher up. You'll probably discover
a formula soon using your character that will beat CPU opps a large % of the
time, since the CPU will not adjust or recover like a human. So on.

 

....nah....you're right, their reactions seem quicker, but the truth is that you will NEVER hit a high ranking Kumite opponent with a rising attact....and will ALWAYS hit a first dan.....likewise, high level guys will almost never fall for your + if you use it as you first throw, while kyus will take a millenia worth of these before they learn....often it is the jump between high and low that catch people out....you beat a High King and lose to a 10th Dan because you use the wrong strategy.... ...you have to LEARN tactics for beating different opponents at different levels.......it still takes me a round or two to adjust.....

 

no, rising attacks will hit higher ranked opponents in kumite. you just have to interupt their moves. the only way to do it.

 

...yes yes, if they do that stupid okizeme pants then you can interrupt them......but a straight high or low rising attack when they have the opportunity to block will never hit.....

 

You sure it'll NEVER hit? you can make it hit if you delay it can't you?
