1. Hey Guest, looking for Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown content? Rest assured that the game is identical to Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown so all current resources on here such as Command Lists with frame data, Combo Lists and the Wiki still apply. Anybody play Namco's Urban Reign?

Right now most of the fight game producers hands are tied with player expectations. Tekken, MK, SF, SC, VF, DOA, BB, KOF etc can't really put out a drastically different version of their fighting game because their respective fans would bitch. Namco came out with Urban Reign (maybe to compete with Fight For New York) but it didn't seem to go anywhere.

If AM2 put out a new 3D fighter what would it look like? Def Jam Icon (Yikes!), Urban Reign (Oh NO!) or have we seen the last of 3D fighters? Is it a dying breed and what we have is all there's ever gonna be?

Last Bronx with the special K.O. From FV2. That's what it should look like.

Loved urban reign, i wouldn't call it a fighter tho, it's more of a brawler but would love to see a new version (with out the main character's snake skin sports coat though)...

the game didn't go anywhere because there was no real marketing behind it, and it got trashed in the press for being too hard (even though it wasn't)...

lot of very good concepts in that game.

If AM2 made another game it better include the words "Virtua", "Fighter", and "6"...

well it was pretty hard.... which was a big park of why I loved it :) that game is amazing.

as for am2... yeah I really wanna see some non VF games make a come back..... but VF6 is pretty well due IMO. the first version of VF5 predates the return of fighting games in the mainstream and I don't think FS was the right game for VF to really ride that wave effectively.

Brodiman , but that's exactly the problem. Fans force the publisher to stick with what they've always done. AM2 put out VF1,2,3,4,5 and they better do a VF6 and not only that, they're not really allowed to change the roster too much , or the engine too much or the fans will bitch. For example:

If AM2 wanted to experiment with the idea of no floating, or the idea of a modern day urban fighter, then the VF fans would probably bitch. Maybe AM2 feels they've taken VF as far as it was ever intended to go :) I know its gone further than Yu Suzuki envisioned.
