1. Hey Guest, looking for Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown content? Rest assured that the game is identical to Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown so all current resources on here such as Command Lists with frame data, Combo Lists and the Wiki still apply. I think Fargo ( http://www.gamespy.com/fargo/december03/merger/ ) said it best: "By combining our resources, GameSpy and IGN are able to build a company that "leverages our synergies." In layman's terms, that means that together we have enough capital to build a giant laser."

So does this merger matter? I see Gamespy/IGN/Gamespot as different flavours of the same thing so other than the financial changes do you think the content will change any? I can't see this as being any grand era of gaming content being created here...

lol I don't give a damn about IGN no more, I just go there for the boards. IGN rocked back when videos were free to view and stuff but now ad's are everywhere and it pisses me off.

The merge, all I see is good reviews for every game even if it's crap and a score higher than 5 for each games. They don't have no guts to tell the truth about if the games crap or not. Either that or the reviewers have no gaming tastes.

I know a friend who works an Gamespy, and he seems pretty uncertain about the deal. Apparently some folks are predicting the Gamespy part to be swallowed up by the IGN monolith. I'm not sure if I'd want that.

    Here's a bit more commentary:

The reviews at IGN have always been good, I hope that won't change now. Otherwise I don't care.

This is bad. My site is hosted by Gamespy. I'm hoping IGN doesn't eat it up. All in all, Gamespy has some cool little Niche areas that IGN could never dream of having. Look at my site for example.
