The Black out from Jay-Z is a blistering.....dissapointment. I've listened to it three times in a row hoping that I would hear something to want to make me buy this (it is not released yet, got it off the net), but really, this is just a mediocer album from one of raps most talented word smiths. Jay-Z has shown time and time again that he can put words together masterfully, tell an amazing story and battle rhyme, yet this c.d is just a lackluster collection of tracks with no coherint structure to it at all. The track produced by eminem, I can't recall at the moment, is the only decent one out of the 12 or so. This is to be Jay's last album, it was more of a booting into the retirement home....how sad.

Yeah, I heard they had to push up the release date because of the bootlegs. Didn't get to hear it yet.

this must be a joke post...

    the black album is amazing.

Jay-Z has finally redeemed himself for all those garbage albums he put out... everything after vol2 sucked.. up until now...

this is the best rap album since stillmatic

Can't wait to check it out. Damn, one says this the other says that. Now I don't know who to believe, but if it's truly his final album I doubt that he would come out with crap.

Blue Print II was an OK cd, but nothing special. His first three cd's are classic. Blueprint is well above average, II is bloated, and the black out is just bad save 2 or 3 tracks.

Ok, what makes it such a bad album : lyrics, production, bad features, lame topics, too commercial... I mean you're not really saying anything. If you're going to make a thread about it and call it crap then atleast come up with some type of substantial review, all you said was : ''this c.d is just a lackluster collection of tracks with no coherint structure to it all''. Kinda vague : is he talking nonsense, are the beats lame... ? I didn't get the chance to listen to it yet so I can't debate with you on the matter but so far I still don't know why it's a bad album.

    Ok:
Lyrically: Lame. No good wordplay, same tired topics.
Production: For the most part, crap. The voice is too low in some points, too high in others. It makes me think the mix down was done on someone's casio. The beats are only ok.
There is no unity to the songs. In his first 3 cds, they went together, there was a logic to how the tracks were layed out. Here, they seem thrown together.

I know I'm going to get nailed, but rap sucks. I don't see what you get out of it, because all I see is a bunch of people talking, you can't even call it music. If you really want to classify it, it would have to be called extremely crappy poetry. Eminem can snort cocaine for all I care (that's how he makes his hit songs).

Daamnn !!!/versus/images/graemlins/shocked.gif Are you serious !? You sure we're talking about the same person ? I'll definitly have to hear it to believe it. You would think that for his last album, he would try to go out with a bang.

And thank you for examining in a completely logical and practical way, a form of media (music) that has never been based on either logic or practicality.
