ok, i was messing around in training, and found this great way of pulling out an instant single palm (great near wall!) and shoulder ram (just great!)
    this is it.
[6][3][2][3][6]+[P] roll your thumb down then up veeeeery quickly and it comes out instantly.
    [6][3][2][3][6]+[P]+[K] is the m-shrm version! /versus/images/icons/grin.gif /versus/images/icons/grin.gif /versus/images/icons/grin.gif /versus/images/icons/grin.gif

Yes, either that or double hadoken motion. I use that all the time.

    ...is the m-shrm version!

...? If you already are aware of terms like "m-shrm" (modified shoulder ram) or m-anything, you probably got the term from this site.

If that's the case, then why post it like it's news? It's been a staple of VF players since .. I dunno, five or ten years or something, I'm too lazy to look up the date.

Unless you meant that uppercut motion was a new way of doing it (rather than df, n, df)? In that case, yeah, that's a good way of doing it (it's what I prefer being a pad player).

I'm sure he meant it as an alternative way to modify the Shoulder Ram.

i meant it like this cos it comes out at least twice as fast as any other version i have seen.
he does not do any move motion into a CD, it comes out INSTANTLY, therefore being more EFFECTIVE in a Fight. /versus/images/icons/mad.gif

... the instant palm or instant shrm are just a crouch dash that is stopped -immediately- with the attack. For example akira does
[6][6][6][P] and he wants an instant shrm after that... he can do any crouch dash motion, while the f,f,f+P is still recovering. The instant he is allowed to move again, the crouch dash will start to happen. Then you cancel that crouch dash with your shoulder ram attack.

to do the crouch dash you can do either [3] [3] or you can do [2][3][2][3] ... you can also sort of do [6][2][3] but I'm not 100% sure if that's what I'm inputting or if I just luck out into a crouch dash.
Anyway so my point is, you're doing modified attacks, but it's not any faster to do it one way or the other way. It's just a matter of preference.
    Have a good time though.

    Creed:
I think GM12b knows what he is talking about. He is not trying to say it's new, but describing a method of doing a CD on a pad without [3][3]. I tried his method I think it is good, but I think it could shorten to just [3][2][3][6][P]+[K] by taking out the first [6].

Anyway, GM12b welcome to this board. Good post but this can go under Console forum since it is dealing with a pad. I don't know if Console forum already have something on this subject because I just don't read that forum.

this method of modifying moves is valid and has been around since VF2 (not 3 though where they mucked with the timing of CD). Akira's single palm could be modified as f,d,f+P (assuming rolling the stick between inputs). Sarah's Shun Puri could be executed same way: b,d,b+K(g).

If I play VF2 I still prefer this method for quick modified moves that don't require and distance considerations. Wolf's 3xPKG into elevator upper for instance. and I would say that for pad users it could be a good friend indeed.
