Interactive VF Trivia Online Thingy.

You can now play single player or competitive VF trivia whenever you want.

The questions range in difficulty from "What color is akira's hair" to "How many frames advantage does a typical low punch MC give" to "What's the official name of Vanessa's MT stance left side throw?" ... there are tons of VF1, 2, and 3 questions as well.

To play, grab mIRC and jump on IRC (click the irc section to learn how), and join #vftrivia ... the bot runs all the time and can be activated by saying !trivia ...

If you're the competitive sort, it keeps track of correct answers, rounds won, and other stats. You can vie for the all-time top spot against other people. Or you can just play alone to learn interesting (and maybe useful) facts about VF.

A quick note on answer format:
-Answers cannot contain pluses or commas, which makes notation a little screwy.
-Everything is spelled out where possible, including numbers and the words 'true' and 'false'.
-nothing needs to be capitalized.
-There are a few answers that have multiple words but most are a single word unless otherwise noted. Some questions will accept multiple answers like "shin'iha is the formal name for akira's _____ throw" (dbfpg is accepted as well as the word headbutt).
-Any problems, or if you need help, or if you have suggestions/idea... /msg creedo your input. I'll see it eventually and do what I can to make things go smoothly. Bear in mind this is just for fun, so if someone poaches your answer, or you lose due to lag, or people win by spamming rapid fire answers.... don't worry about it /versus/images/icons/smirk.gif

 

very cool...any way to code it such that one can't spam an answer? ie type in 'true' then 'false' to essentially OS your way to the answer...

 

LLany mad cheats at trivia. Many times have i been screwed by the freckle faced hoodlum who we call lag. His brute musty smell drenches my clothes and hair i cannot escape his masculine doom

Oh - Creed - you have a quesiton about how many reversals Brad has in Evo. The correct answer is 'one' but you have it as 'none'.

Sup llany, you can do that but unfortunately it means limiting everything to 1 answer.

I've seen this scenario often:
Question 20: What color is akira's hair
Llanfair: lol
Llanfair: black
Llanfair: I said black dammit!
HAL2000: Sorry Dave, you have used up your one guess with "lol" which was incorrect.

It pretty much renders the game 100% chatter-free, which is less fun.
I think the only safeguard to spamming is knowing the answer. Answering first with the correct answer will beat a spammer regardless.
It was much worse when I accepted "T" or "F"

For now my fix is to write more and more questions and avoid true and false ones. I'm aiming for questions which have a character name as the answer. I saw people spam one question with 12 characters, missing the thirteenth needed to get it right /versus/images/icons/laugh.gif

Edit: ohhh yeah that midkick reversal where he uses his low crescent to knock you down.

 

heh I was playing a bit of trivia even with my minimal of knowledge in vf ~ yes/no and true/false questions are the best and guessing frames =]
