I see some ridiculous akira's despite the lag. The only issue sometimes is hit confirming, and getting his TFT at some points. Depends on the connection.

Akira is my main and I have serious issues with using him online at times. I mean, at least half the time the connection is ok and I can play him pretty normally, but when the connection gets laggy its just plain joke, and I find myself resorting to Sarah more often than not. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif Akira just cant be played under lag, or if he can, its just not fun.

(I have a fist-sized hole in my living room table now thanks to losing laggy matches -_- )

Ive played akira is lag and i completely hate it. Honestly i dont even think using him online is a good idea to start with. Any hint of lag makes it unbareable for me to use akira online.

You guys are some whiney hoes! The lag is not that bad. If it is really laggy than yes it is hard, but you know you don't get that many laggy matches, unless it's your connection that's laggy. The only time it's really annoying is when you are laggy and you're fighting a masher...

Check where I live dude. Not everybody is surrounded by plenty worthy opponents.. If everything was all right then I wouldnt have to play against people outside Europe, but unfortunately this isnt the case. Feels like half of the players the game offers me are from US now..

Yes there is possibility to search and host non-ranked matches as well, although I think ranked side is more popular.

It's more annoying for us to have to play you... And I've played English people with no lag, you probably have a bad connection. You probably lag against everyone and you think it's their fault when it's yours...

What kind of stupid ass logic is this?

What do you mean? The logic is that some people lag cause their connection is slow and they think it's the people they're playing when it's them. They blame the lag on the other guy when it's them that's lagging...

no, when you are in europe and an american joins your game 9 times out of 10 it'll be laggy. It has nothing to do with his connection.

when the lag is minimal that is an exeption to the rule.

Some one said it isn't so much you connection speed but your ping... Not sure what he ping is exactly but they mentioned the number 16.

ping has to do with your connection speed

Not really. When most people say connection speed, they're talking about bits per second. Beyond a very basic level, this is not the limiting factor for lag in online games. The limiting factor is how long it takes a single packet to get from point A to point B (ping), not how many packets you can push at any given time (bps).

To use the pipe analogy, you could have a really wide pipe (20mbps) that went through Alaska before going anywhere else. It would have a "fast" speed in the sense that once information started coming out of the other end, there would be a lot of it per second. But it would have shitty ping, because it would take a long time for a single packet to make it from start to finish.

Or, you could have a really skinny pipe (1mbps) that went directly from your house to your opponent's. It would be "slower" in the sense that there wouldnt be as much information per second coming out the other end, but it would take much less time for a single packet to make it from start to finish. This would be much better for a fighting game.

since fulaani edited the post: ping may have something to do with how much you pay your provider for a "faster" connection, but this has more to do with quality of service / them giving certain hosts preference than it does with the relationship between "speed" and ping.

gernburgs, you might do well to go and read up a little on networking and the meaning of terms like latency, bandwidth and lag. It's apparent to me (and I suspect others) that you have no idea what they mean, and as a result your comments come across as rude and arrogant.

Lag is relative. I'm sure his games are fine against locals, and equally annoying for him to have to play you.

I did not know all that, thanks dude. I'm actually looking for a better connection now so this knowledge will come in handy.

Plus he said that he can't play anyone local cause there's no one local to play. Therefore he seeks out opponents that he will lag against. Who's fault is that.

People like you think you're so smart. I know what lag is and I've seen it effect my games so how could I not know what it is? You just want to bad mouth me with your poison pen cause you think you're a genius. I'm a chemist by trade so I promise you I'm well educated and fairly intelligent. Give me (and others I suspect) a break.
