1. Hey Guest, looking for Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown content? Rest assured that the game is identical to Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown so all current resources on here such as Command Lists with frame data, Combo Lists and the Wiki still apply. However, you can expect some VF5US specific changes to come soon!

Item Pack 2: How to voice yourselves to SOA!

I believe the sham that is Item Pack 2 deserves its own thread.

After reading this topic, I realized that Sega is milking its VF customers for all they're worth. L_A_Akira posted SOA's customer service link which can be found here:

    http://www.sega.com/support/support_csonline.php

I encourage anyone who cares about the quality of downloadable content to give it a shot. This is what I wrote:

    To whom it concerns:

Virtua Fighter 5 loyalists deserve MUCH better than the DLC currently out. Item Pack 2 delivered on practically no fronts and thankfully due to complaints about it on the virtuafighter.com message boards, I am not wasting my money on it. I think many people who frequent that site share the same sentiment.

It'd be wise for Sega to release more than two items at a time, which are not simply palette swaps of existing items. If Sega advertises their item packs as such too (eg "4 completely NEW items per character") the item packs would be that much more popular.

I am skeptical to purchase ANY Virtua Fighter-related downloads at this point due to the distrustful value found in the first two packs.

I honestly hope SOA takes this widely-shared opinion into careful consideration.

    Thank you.

Notice how I mentioned I come from VFDC. I think a concerted community effort just may turn a few heads at SEGA. It only takes a minute!!

I don't have the X-box copy of the game so I wonder what the value of the package is (cost of download and how much you get).

Before I send a message to anyone, which exact items are in the second item pack?

It does seem like sega is trying to screw it's fans over now with two prick moves. They really need to be careful or they're going to lose their fanbase.

    @Leonard:
Pink Toe Plate for everyone + 1 new color for an existent hairstyle, for example blue swept back hair for Goh or Orange Side Updo für Aoi.

Awww, are people upset this time?

Do they finally see Sega cares nothing for the players and will rip you off any way they can?

But then again it's only 200 points this time! That's cheaper than last time!!! So dig in blind fanboys. Support the company so they can rip you off more.

I was pretty disappointed with the second one too. I'm not sure if Sega is to blame though... Seeing as all the items released as downloadable content so far were already on the disc, I guess that Microsoft is to blame. Maybe they forced/asked Sega to hold some back for downloadable content.

Alot of here are willing to pay for good items like in the arcade version c, not just palette swaps of what we already had in B. By the way, why do you post here? You're obviously not a fan of the game and simply made an account to whine about paying for content already on the disc. You've voiced your opinion last month so theres no more use for you here.

I wouldn't complain about palette swaps if they were for the character's clothes, but coloured hair is laughably bad. I would happily spend MS points for a lime green vest for Lion or a gold gi for Akira for example.

TY for the quick heads-up. I have to admit that I purchased both Item Packs now (without ever using the items that came with them as they are too fancy). Sega is really one of the developers and publishers that rarely milk the cash cow. In fact, this is the first time I am aware of that they ever did. I bought the item packs in order to support such a unique game as VF5. Arcade games become rare ... I hope they don't get lost.

Some of you guys are being pretty babyish. No series has given me more bang for the buck over the years than VF. For every $50 game I have spent, I have gotten hundreds of hours out of it. If selling item packs is what it takes to make the series prfitable in the States then I am ok with that. I don't have to buy them, but probably will anyway cuz I like to play dress up.

Sooner or later the older downloadable contents will get free of charge anyway, as it is the case with most games.

By the way, this link is used pretty widely. If you see anyone else using it in any SEGA petition threads, let them know it is not valid and the messageboards are the place to go.
