items list project

i'm sure many of you are familiar with the website that has a bunch of items listed for all the characters over at hk-vf.net (if not, http://www.hk-vf.net/vf5item/ there you go). now, when i first saw this website i thought that the items that were listed were ALL the items in the game. ignorant me! it turns out that these are just a few of the items that can be obtained through the duration of the game.

example: i play goh, and one of the first matches i ever played with him i got an item match where i received a "bat with nails", a back/body item. if you go to that aforementioned website, the only back/body items listed are a sickle (or reaper), and a shotgun. this leads me to believe that there are MANY items that you can obtain throughout the game and the %'s you earn may have nothing to do with actual item content.

if this has been mentioned, or if this theory is totally bunk, please feel free to ignore this, and keep it in memory to discredit me in the future. i only mention anything about it because i haven't seen much information on items in general for vf5.

(btw, how the hell do you get the glow orb wrist bracelet?)

I'm not sure what you mean here.

I will say that item percentage increases by winning items and buying them from the store. I'm about mid 80% for all three progress trackers (completion, items, opponents defeated). I do not get any more items unless I win them in tournaments as the 1st prize or buy what's left in the store. I do not win items in item battles - doesn't matter if it's a gold or colored emblem - I only win gold (of which I need a lot - clothing is EXPENSIVE).

There's very little Quest Mode in my future until after April 1st. I'll check back in after that.

 

hmm, then i am recanting my initial post about the %'s.

at least i know that the hk-vf.net items list is not total, which is what made me post this in the first place. i guess i was just getting ahead of myself ^_^.

edit: would it be possible to post all the different items that characters have? if people are far enough as plague here, then we can create a document that at least explains ALL the different items that are available.

plague- would it be possible for you to post up all the items that you have with the character(s) you're speaking of? you don't have to explain HOW you got them, as i'm sure you probably do not recall how you got EVERYTHING you have, but at least post them so as to get an idea?

if we had people that did that with every character i'm sure there would be a lot of appreciative people for years to come. hell, i was going to the item lists for characters in EVO up until the DAY i got a ps3 and vf5.

 

well, in that case, it makes it even more enticing to create a thorough list.

btw, thanks for the link myke. i haven't been to the japanese vf site since the game was released, so those were all new screen shots for me.

 

Yeah, I can do that for Akira after April 1st.

Note that items in the store only come from the store. If you're planning to write comprehensive lists, you can use the store lists as a start. Hmmm - come to think of it, you may as well leave those items out as the list is known from the game and the guide.

Too bad I didn't keep track of items won in tournaments as well as orb items and diamond items.

 

yea the only thing that sucks is knowing what those items are. i'm currently getting items for a few characters, but it's going to take some time.

 

BRILLIANT! Because I went through Lion's items and thought that it was quite bare. Mostly just different colour options, which isn't what it's about at all for me.

So basically, there is no complete items list for every character anywhere to be found yet??

i'll be posting some of my findings in my initial post in regards to an items list. they are by no means complete, nor will i have information on how i got them, or what item "rarity" they are, but at least i'll have a list going with some characters.

this will happen some time this weekend.

 

I have a small problem. I have 99.4% of all items for Blaze and I have completed the final tournament in Quest mode. I can't get another item tournament to complete the items. \

Has anyone collected all the items for their character without collecting the bonus set of emblems first? I am wondering if the bonus emblems are recognized as the other .6%

 

The emblems are tracked separately.

Even if you finish the official tournaments - I think the others still pop - up, though right?

 

Wow, thanks for that link. I had never seen any of those photos before. I wonder if those are still in the game? That's what I love about Virtua Fighter, it's always a suprise and completely different. I wonder if the 360 version will be the same?

Other tournaments pop up but they are only gold and emblem matches. Usually it goes in cycles of three "money,emblem,item" not in that order all the time but it cycles. Now I only cycles of two, money and emblem.

 

this is what i got thus far... i haven't put together the outfits yet though as that would take a while. this is all the stuff you can use with all the outfits. i'm sure it's not everything, it's just what i got so far... (i hope i get a wireless keyboard soon so i don't have to write everything down then type it again).

I've been hoping that there's an option for Kage to have his mask off, like in Virtua Fighter 2. I have more than 67% of the items. I've beaten 100% of the players, and have received 100% of the emblems. I'm concerned now because I recently got into an item fight where the treasure chest was outlined in gold rather than silver, signifying a rare item. But it just gave me gold. I hope I'm not done with rare items, because that would mean that only the store items are left, which means no "No mask" option. :-\
