Please. The Yankees are done with. No matter how much they upgrade and spend money. It's the era of mid market sleepers.

that's my point, half their lineup was on the all star team last year. of that 6 ppl as their projected starters, 6 off that list, arod, Jason Giambi, Gary Sheffield, Jorge Posada, Hideki Matsui, and Kevin Brown, were all on the all star team last year NOT INCLUDING Aaron Boone (who will be a backup behind arod and is currently injured, NL team last year) and the combo of Bernie Williams and Derek Jeter who while not making it last year, are perenial all stars EVERY year, they just happened to not make the cut last year. On top of that they TRADED Alfonso Soriano to get Arod and most of all, they may preseason, have crushed the Boston Redsox hopes BEFORE THE SEASON EVEN STARTS. I'll tell u one thing, this was a brilliant move made possible by the fact that NY is ludicrously big.

Arod is reining mvp. On a last place team for the past three years before coming to the yankees. Giambi is getting fatter and his knees are not holding up. Can Arod play third base or 2nd base? Since Jeter is the starting shortstop? It's easier said than done. Matsui isn't the power hitter as he was in Japan because the pitching is better in mlb. They are full of holes. No matter how much they upgrade.

it's DIFFERENT, not necessarily better, everyone has to take time to adjust to ure conferences pitchers and a year is average, matsui was doin better by the end of the season anyhow. Giambi is gettin fatter but he can still hit. Arod is noted for defensive capacity. I think when Aaron Boone gets healthy, he'll be put at 3rd and they'll let Arod (who can cover SICK ground) cover 2nd. His position has no bearing on his ability to hit. Trust me, they'll find ways to wins.

Yeah. It is definitely screwed up. But the Lakers had an all-star starting 5 at one time. They should win being statistical, but... Anything can happen. Injuries especially. Not to mention with all of that cockyness in the line-up, will they get along?
