I thought the people running the UGS Boston event were nice and were certainly trying their best to hold a fun, player-oriented event. I had fun and I'm pleased that JC Media organized such an event.

But even with that in mind, with respect to this prize money issue -- honestly, there have been clearly repeated instances of poor judgment and unfortunately repeated failures to come clean by JC Media.

Writing post-dated checks from accounts that were canceled at the time of such post-dating? And giving those checks to winners? Very much, not cool.

Your excuse about the court date relating to post-dating checks just reeks of yet another excuse and failure to admit extremely poor judgment. Either it's an excuse, or shows extreme ignorance on the part of JC Media, as there is no way you would have received any damages on the same day as a court date.

Again, I thought the people I met were actually very cool. Just you guys have got to be better about accepting responsibility, truthfully responding to questions, emails and phone calls.

    Just my 3500 cents worth.

    Best regards,

    -Jason

Heh, $35 was the price to enter the tournament...

I received an email announcing the relaunch of JCM's web site... there has to be some funds available to accomplish that. Have they paid out the winnings to anyone yet?

The economics of the whole set-up don't add up to me. The prize money is way too high for the number of players who were attending plus paying all (at least 6) of the people who were there running the event, along with providing the consoles and monitors. Am I missing something?

I just received the email as well. It seems they did go ahead with the NYC event despite complaints. Funny how they would send me an email about their "new and improved" company and not a single word about when will the winners ever receive their payments.

yea... although judging from the site(i looked at it like a week or two ago) they had far less games than they usually did
