Jeffry videos from Bay Area Cup

Tricky recently captured the Bay Area Cup, and it features Magnum as well as other Jeffry action. I have marked the parts of the videos where Jeffry is featured, but the whole thing is worth a watch.

I've scraped through the whole thing a few times and I think that these are all the instances of Jeffry appearing, but I think it's interesting to notice what they are doing and what they aren't doing. We were talking about this last night at the NYC_VF meeting: we should be thinking about why Japanese players don't use all the moves that we do.

I'm always keeping an eye out for more JP Jeff videos. He is pretty rare over there but I learn new tech every time I see something. Using the followup to P+K to deter sidestep actions was what I pulled out of this one, really solid stuff.

 

Cruzlink clued me in to a Korean player named BC McMild who uploaded a series of Jeff matches during a stream test.

More use of P+K. While the Goh player in this video seemed to be at a loss when dealing with this move, I do find that it is really useful. I'm thinking of posting a full analysis of the move and its strengths.

Adam was doing that since way back. These Jeffry players could probably learn more from us cause we're crazy, creative Westerners. Definitely will be using that conversion combo off of 6PP(counter) whenever I get the chance.

That Jeffry in the last video link where you said you don't know him was actually Magnum! The video quality was too shabby for me to decipher the first Jeffry's name though. I know this is an old thread but I havn't seen it until now, thanks for sharing!
