Jumonji P Reversal from P+K+G

    How fast does it kick in/is it effectively instantaneous after /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif? Kage apparently doesn't need to stop chanting/finish his SLOW animation to get the reversal (Hit it by accident at start of versus match while trying to go into Shippuujin, would be disasterous except my Lion opponent went for fast /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif attack right off ...)

    I don't remember anyone quoting info on that, so I just like to clarify the issue and store it in back of mind for future reference. Considering my Pai and Jerkman transited horribly to VF5 (couldn't do half the things I could do in VF4FT); I had decided to start experimenting with Kage my 3rd Primary and apparantly had more luck adjusting to Shippuujin.

    Should be as soon as you enter the stance similar to Lei Fei's stance reversals.

    Like if you /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif (hold P) and your opponent reacts instantaneously with punch or what not they get reversed and pwned.


    Also Shippunjin is so nasty lol lol, /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif and /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif are just disgusting. But if Kage enters it at disadvantage he's in big doo-doo.

    Not only that, remeber that in ver. C those moves are not as safe as they were in ver.B... Now Kage is only human /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

    Thanks guys! I'll keep this in mind for future use when I face off vs Lei-Fei's charge punch attack or something similar.

    Here in SG it's version B. So I guess I get to abuse his overpowered Shippuujin for a little while til the rest get used to it /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

    Actually, no, it's not that fast!

    I'm currently working out what the effective frame difference is for this to reverse successfully, and will put it in Kage's strategy wiki page once I'm done. But for now...

    Even if Kage has +2 advantage, the slowest of high punches (12f) will hit Kage out of an attempt to enter the stance with /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif.

    Moving into the stance from a guarded attack, like /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif (hold /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif), will also lose out to the slowest of high punches (12f).

    Moving into the stance from a guarded /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif (hold /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif) can reverse the fastest of high punches (10f). The difference this time being Kage has advantage on guard after /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif, unlike /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif.

    Generally speaking, Kage needs to have some advantage going into stance in order to reverse the fastest punches. But even when you're already in the stance, you still need some advantage.

    For example, Juumonji /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif guarded gives Kage +3 and leaves him in the stance. Standing neutral afterwards can reverse the fastest of high punches (10f).

    But Juumonji /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif guarded puts Kage at -1 and remaining neutral in stance will not reverse the fastest of high punches (10f). BT Juumonji /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif is 0f on guard, and still loses out to the fastest high punch.
