Don't know much about VF4's inner workings compared to vanilla 5, cause I only play vanilla 5. But I do know that 0f throws can speed up or slow the game's pace down with the pausing and waiting to make them available, and the constant attacking to deny them. It can become very conservative.

    It's such a strong technique.

    P/lp CH = same as vf4
    P/lP NH = safer than vf4

id say it is more attactive to newcomers, because it seems more TE forgiving. but the idea is that where NH is safe disadvantage for the opp, he can be caught by 0frame throw after the fuzzy.

in VF4 there was no clash, so actually, if the opp threw a big launcher at disadvantage, it is more worrying for the thrower here. id's say Vf5 is more jab throw friendly in different ways.

and plus... jab gets +2 on block in VF5.

VF4 [P] on counter was +8 and throws also had an exe of 8 frames, yah?

    Id say VF4 jab wins.

That thought had crossed my mind but I dont know the system inside out so I cant say.. Stair stepping would have been crazy difficult in Evo but I saw it done by someone like Minami.. In VF5 its possible even with the restriction (you can still cancel movements even with the restriction), but I cant for the life of me perform stepping with the speed I used to.. Maybe its just me.

VF4 gameplaywise was totally different. Due to lack of clash, you were under constant threat of eating a massive launcher when trying to throw. Pretty much everything was more counterable, which meant that throw escapes and ETEGs were needed much more. Especially since due to throw speed fuzzy didnt really exist.. But I dont think this thread was meant to start comparing vf4 and vf5..

I don't know about all that but I felt vf4 was more pressuring that 5. The overall game required more mental strength/stamina in my opinion than 5, maybe I'm just getting senile.. [IMG]

It's an overdose of grime that's dulled your mental prowess.

Let not Get carried away? I am not talking about frames and Crouch dashing mechanics. The overall game speed is faster period. Fuck the frames Myke you can see the game is faster regardless of which. whether a punch is 10 or 12 the game speed is blazing and reaction times had to be faster.

As far as seeing something your not Myke concerning throw escapes when you used to doing something a quicker pace.I'm quite sure at a slow pace you have a better visual towards things that are on screen. Then again Myke you know everything VF and i don't.Sorry for insulting your intelligence.

No, I agree. I know it was getting inside my head back then losing to better players than me. Now with VF5s system with easier defending gameplay has been more... lenient. I like several things about VF5s system, but I wish stepping would be faster.

Perhaps people who played VF4 felt it was faster whereas it in fact was more.. intense.

Errmm, it has a lot to do with the frames. What else factors into the speed of the game?

Actually don't answer, it's pretty clear you're just angry about something. Craziness...

    What else?

The pace and flow at which a match can go, and goes at levels.

You and I can agree that VF is a faster game than sf4 correct? But SF4 has key striking moves that start as quick as 2 to 4 frames.

I'm not too intelligent but wouldn't the pace and flow be limited by the frames? Most of the movement and attacks etc.. have a set amount of frames and i'm having difficulty seeing beyond that.

I'm not to sure abut the speed of VF compared to SF4, movement wise it feels slower than VF but it feels like you have to react quicker in SF.

We should leave all this now and carry enjoying the vids previously posted [IMG]

I noticed this when I played VF4 @ Plague's. The camera shifts very dramatically in VF4 during a successful evade, when compared to VF5.

Its pretty Clear i angry at what Feck? Please tell? In my post i was very enthused at the speed at which evo was being played in the vids.I'm exited to catch up on evo and im enjoying these vids being posted. Now since i said Vf4:evo is faster you guys pinpoint exactly was makes the game fast then say its not fast because of it Un-fucking-believable!!!! Chibita Evo lion exibition show him moving at lightning speed regardless of which. I thought the vid was sped up a bit. then i watched a VF5 vid and i came to the conclusion the game pace was in fact slowed down. Look at the finals vid with Geewaiho vs Knee Ninja. That was a excellent fast pace game. I watch Geewaiho again in a youtube video with pai in VF5 and the pace is overall slower.

Maybe im wrong oh well more vids please im loving this.

Really? Maybe that was when I had stopped playing VF for a while. It's a shame because I was really trying to advance my game before that but the competition was drying up and I found about VF4FT in Casino some time after giving up.

The same thing is happening with VF5 here now.
