Just read this on NeoTower's site regarding shinz and the gang

Here is a summary of what he said in his online diary.

He (NeoTower) first fought with one of the Korean Jacky fighters. The match was nothing out of the ordinary and he won.
Next, he fought with shinz's brother and mentioned that his Akira was very strong. He had fast reflexes and was very good at "reading" the opponent. NT was most impressed with his ability to recover. He wrote that it's been a while since he saw a person recover after a stumble?? and reverse a beat knuckle. But NT still won this match as well.
Finally, he fought shinz's Lei and Akira. NT mentioned that it was evident that shinz was still not used to Ver. C. He didn't utilize many of the max damage combos and missed many countering opportunities. But his "step" was very cool. Probably no one in Japan can step better than shinz. However, his steps were pretty much useless in battle.
Then he goes on to say that Chibita is still the god of VF. Chibita was the only one that made the Korean team go through seven rotations without losing. Overall, NT thinks that the Japanese players are better.

    Enjoy!

Oh, wow. That was interesting. I have two questions:
    1. What does "step" mean?
    2. The Korean group fought Chibita?

By "step", I'm referring to that multiple crouch dashing move.
If you watch any of shinz's movies online, you'll see that he likes to use this move a lot. It looks like the character is sliding back while remaining crouched.

If you read the other recent posts here, you'll find similar posts on shinz's match up with Chibita.

I just read Sasaki's post on Famitsu.com this morning and it seems like they're more impressed with shinz's brother than shinz himself.
