    Hello !

I've been playing kage for long time in kumite mode (very hard). Now CPU players are too weak. I would like to start playing with human players and winning competitions /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Which Kage's moves , throws and combos should I use against human ?
I've been watching a lot of player movies but I still don't know the best Kage's technic.

Sup. You might try clicking home, then kage's name on the left side of the page. You'll see Kage related documents. Ukguy wrote a ton of stuff on kage.

If you just want to get started right away, kage's good moves are:

b+P+G throw - search for "TFT combos" to see what to follow this with.

    df+P combo starter (you can always follow with P --> d+P+K, K)
from crouch, DF+P combo starter (punish any move that whiffs near you or over your head with this. Always follow with d+P+K,K)

K+G, P - for poking from long range.

uf+K+G - guaranteed combo starter, always beats low punches (which are pretty common among human players). Always follow with d+P --> f,d,df+P+K.

Well, you could always do ridiculous shit like uf K+G -> ub K+G. Of course, only some kinda retarded Kage would whip that crap out. *cough*

Nah, but follow Creed's advice. The Kage section on this page has helped me tremendously. As for TFTs, the #1 one learned by almost every ninja player is TFT -> Knee -> [1][P],[K][G] (Replace with just [P] for heavier chars) -> [P] -> [6][K]+[G] -> [2][K] -> dash forward and [3][K]. Squeezing the low kick in there works because the timing for the techroll is pretty tough, and unless your opponent is really concentrating on it, you'll get 'em. The last [3][K] there is the light down attack. As for the knee, it's [2_][6][K], but you can modify it with [3][3][6][K]. The timing differs between LW and HW characters, but for most characters you need to be inputting the move right as Kage's feet are both back on the ground after the toss. This combo's pretty easy and reliable for 83 points, 70 before the down attack, and it works on anyone. If you use the [1][P], [K][G] swipe, it brings the total up to 86 and 73 respectively. Not too shabby. My only problem with it is the knee, which I sometimes screw up because I'm still not totally used to my stick. Gotta love whipping out sidekicks and the heel swat for massive 13 damage TFTs.

As far as human competition, Virtua Fighters over here in the west can be tough to find, so generally you have to make some. Just find some buddies that are into something like Tekken or Soul Calibur, and bring them into the light. I myself played TTT almost obsessively for over a year until I was converted by my older brother. If you want advice on teaching though, someone more experienced than I would be the best person to ask. Shit, my Kage might be the gayest ninja ever. But, then again, I also know more moves in Jumonji stance than goddamn [P]+[K]. Good luck on the ninja.

    Don't forget...

f+P: fast, mid, huge advantage on MC. Follow with a throw or attack after it MC's, the elbow MC is highly likely to make your opponent "freeze" so there's a high chance of the you landing the throw. It can also get you into jumaji.

d+P: really fast, special low. Use to interupt your opponent and start your own flowcharts. Follow with throw or attack on hit and again there's a high chance of landing a throw on MC.

P,P,b+P and d/b+P,P,b+P strings: fast, if first hit connects the rest are guaranteed for good damage, leave you at a small advantage on block or normal hit. If you block your opponents big moves like a knee or some other combo starter you can usually follow with d/b+P,P,b+P for guaranteed damage(~40pts) plus medium advantage. They also get you into jumanji.

And like Creed said read, uk-guy's Kage FAQ(although my comp freezes whenever i try to view it???). It was written for regular VF4 but 95% of it is still valid in EVO.

I think Kage's [2_][K] is very underrated. Try throwing that in - very annoying. /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Hello fellas, I'm new to tha VFDC boards and have been playing kage since vf4 first came out in the states.
To tell you the truth, any HUMAN VF player will expect the TFT so don't make any big plans for it in a match. You'll end up relying on it and it'll cost ya. Against humans, I've found it to be best to get in and out of his Jumanji as often as possible. His [P]+[K] outt of the jumanji is WAY effective against people that like to stay high(sabaki city as I call it). plus if you knock some one down while in jumanji dash at them like a mad man. trust me, it gets very intimidating when you mix up his dash with [2]+[K] or again using [P]+[K], [G]+[K] is hella usefull against people that like to low sweep while getting up. to throw them off of your tactics set em up with his roll out of jumanji too.
Another great move against humans is [4][4]+[G]+[K]. It turns you around a little faster it seems than other back turning moves of his... then come the mind games. w/back turned... [P]+[K],[P]+[K]~[K],[2][P],[2][K],[G]+[P]+[K], among others (i.e. walking away from someone as bait)

    You have no idea...

oh one more thing before I go. An awesome bait tactic (thats way hard to set up) is dashing in jumanji~ performing just about any move to cancel it then keep tapping [K] to make his heel kick come out. I find that it works best when canceling his kick counter ( [G]+[P]+[K] )and going straight into the heel kick. canceling is key, the quicker the cancel, the better chance you have at doing the heel kick.

    Hope this helps.

Hey has anyone tried HCB (Half Circle Back) [K]+[G] full charge, followed by [P][P][4][P][K]. Although quite difficult to connect with it does a lot of damage for the character. I think around 86-90 pts

Hey is it me or does anyone find that Kages [4][4][K]+[G] is slower in VF4 and Evo than in the other VF games? /versus/images/graemlins/confused.gif
