Kageh is the national champion in SC2

Well, my long time friend, and long time VF sparring partner Harold "Kageh" Hess just won the national tournament in SC2.

Some of you here may have met him in the past NYGs and tournaments. So please congratulate him if you will.

Oh, also, 3 out of top 4 in the tournament are from Chicago. Now that the national is over, I'll try my best to convert them to Evo....

 

I think i might have seen him....Was he recently at another little tourney in mount prospect at randhurst mall? /versus/images/icons/grin.gif

 

Damn! Whay am i not surprised? Harold, PLEASE come back to vf now...Evo is coming out on the 13th of March! I am looking forward to seeing the Chi-crew at future gatherings/tourneys.

 

Cool. Give him a pound for me for representin' the queen of SC2. Ivy's too cold to be stopped by her fellow lamers of SC2. I can't wait to see how he plays as he must be an Ivy god.

 

Yeah congradulations man though seriously harold its time to return to the vf fold now. I mean its basically omaha and st.louis as the nly midwest vf spots. We need Chicago back. I think Shou wants revenge on a fully powered up Shota as well.

Possibly. We are usually at SC2 events at HIP, Golfmill and Randhurst. Kageh goes there once in a while, maybe every other week. I'm there too though I don't play SC2.

Well, "old" Chicago players are either gone or too busy to do anything. Then we have new people. It's more like "our" group joined up with "their" group. We mostly play SC2 or GGXX though.

At least Harold knows the basics of VF; so it won't take too long for him to get back IF he ever decides to come back. Only if we had Evo in the arcade....

Nah...I've seen him use Ivy for a looong time, so I may not have as much appreciation to his skill & style. But Kageh and WCM thought that Kageh's Ivy was the strongest Ivy in Japan too when they went there. So he *must* be something....

Actually, fighting game talent in Chicago is stronger than ever. We have FloE from Capcom world, Fury from Tekken, WCM, FetZ and Kageh from SC. I cannot imagine how competitive they will be, once they get the proper training in VF.

And as for Shou, he will have a revenge on me...easily. So much dedication on his part I hear from NY guys and KaminariOyaji.

Indeed long time no see...as I haven't done anything for a bit in the past 2 years. I'll be back in the scene one of these days though, so I hope to see you guys sometimes.

 

well you have more players than ever that much is true. But if they arent playing vf i dont care If you get them playing just tell me when to show up for the gathering and ill be down. GOOD LUCK SHOTA

 

So he used Ivy? Maybe you could persuade him to give us a write up of his experiences...I would love to read it!

I haven't forgotten my roots. VF was the series that got me into fighting games. Even my online name, "Kageh", is a homage to this series and my favorite character.

Truth be told, I owe a lot of my success to the experience I gained playing vf. Especially against the stronger players right here on this forum. Chicago, NY Crew, Omaha, St. Louis... too many people to list. Thanks, guys.

I definitely plan to get back into VF once I manage to find some free time. I'm definitely looking forward to meeting you all again some time in the future. Thanks again!

Shou...you are now scaring me a bit. I wonder Ed at HG still has his page up. For my defense, I actually lost some weight in the past 6 years, believe it or not.

I'd just have to starighten out and align my professional career, and I'll be back in scene with full force.
