Korean step in VF4

    Yes. It's possible.
    Okay. I know that many people already knew it.
    Now, AkiraKid is doing it smoothly.
    You can't see this step from recent movies at TBzone because those movies were recorded quite ago.
    The movies featuring AkiraKid's Akira will be uploaded lastly
    because it is at the end part of the video tape they recorded.

    Anyway, back to the topic.
    For someone who doesn't know how to do it yet,
    it's almost the same way as VF3's.
    But, you have to use stick movement instead of using escape button.
    The basic point is to cancel the sidestep.
    For example, sidestep CD G sidestep ....
    This time, you can cancel sidestep with forward/backward dash and CD backward/forward.
    To do it smoothly, you have to buffer the next move while sidestepping.
    How useful is it?
    At this time, not much useful unless the first sidestep is counter(?) sidestep.

    I haven't seen it with my eyes because I am stuck here USA.
    I haven't seen even VF4 itself.
    So don't blame me if I am wrong.
    But many VF players in Korea are discussing this now.

    I will bring more news later...

    Sounds neat...there's only one problem with being able to do it a la VF3: You don't really dodge unless you dodge an opponent's attack - ie the MC Dodge that someone referred to in a different post.

    I'm not saying that you can't dodge on your own in the game, but it's a not a very...umm...how to say this...good *movement*?

    From what I've tried so far and what I've seen so far, Taiwan Stepping is very useful and quite popular. Quick movements back and forth, both CDs and dashes blended together nicely is an extremely effective movement style.

    I'm keen to see Korean footage of this though - AkiraKid's dexterity is truly formidable - so who knows what he can do. :)

    cheers,

    It doesn't really work that well in VF4. You(I mean players
    in general) won't really save many frames by CD cancelling
    the dodge, in fact, I don't think you will save any at all.
    I would say that KS in VF4 is pretty useless, TS seems to
    be more effective since its possible to rapid CD now.

    I got a direct reply from AkiraKid.

    In VF4, CD can't be canceled by dash backward,
    (it's possible to dash backward only at the end of CD)
    so it's possible only in form of forward korean step.

    He also said that Korean step in VF4 isn't as flash as VF3's, but
    it's cool in its own way because dash in VF4 is faster than VF3's.

    He said he's still having experiment with it,
    and he will show it when he masters it.

    I hope we can see it soon...

    All recent movies from TBzone were actually from one tape they recorded a while ago.
    AkiraKid's Akira is at the end of the tape, so it will be uploaded lastly.
    So, just give NAKOjin some time.
    He is working hard to make those movie files.
    We all should thank him for all the work he has done.

    Nakojin's pai kicks ass too.

    What's the relationship between Moonsuk, Shinz, Rikioh and Nakojin? Just curious, that's all; want to know the people behind the clips a little better.

    Moonsuk is Akira Kid's older brother.
    Rikioh and NAKOjin are not related.
    And, all of them are members of a VF team called 'Replays'.
    They also take charge of each character's character guide forum at TBzone.
    So, they answer when you ask specific questions about each character.
    For reference, Shinz takes charge of Lei and Shun.
    Akira = Moonsook
    Pai = NAKOjin
    Wolf = Rikioh

    There are some other people taking care of other characters.

    Cool, thanks for the info. Do they speak any English at all? You should ask them to visit here, /versus/images/icons/wink.gif /versus/images/icons/wink.gif. <- What a bunch of gay happy people we are!
