Yosuke took me up to his hometown on 8-17-07 to meet and play against some of his friends. There was a mini tournament at the arcade with a handfull of us and yosuke asked me to save this match.

VF5 ver C SHU (SH) vs L.A. Akira (SH)
Match between me and SHU on VF5 version C. Watch for the 9p escape after he gets me with 3p+g. After the match, SHU told me he'd never actually seen that escape before and I guess after all the inspiration i've got from him, I guess its my turn to donate something to the old man bag o tricks.

The main differences ive seen is thew first hit of the (bt sou) sabaki is around -4 on guard and the second hit blocked is around -15 on guard. Also his ppp p+k strings were -7 on guard and now I think they are -8. K+G from (bt sou) also knocks down now but I dont think thats much of a nerf. Maybe the other way around.

It's nice to see a person from America go over to Japan and hold there own. Americans don't quite get as much competition as the Japanese. What L. A. Akira did was amazing. He didn't win all his matches, but he gave his best against the opponents. He also disected SHU's gameplay and used it against him to almost win.

One thing I hate about us gamers in America is when we play against someone from Japan we think, oh he's from Japan and somewhere along the lines we lose are game face and don't play as good, or we think that we are going to lose just because they are from Japan. It's sad because they wan't a good match and we start to play at half of our skill level; bad setups, sloppy combo's, bad spacing, impatient etc,.

I give alot of respect to LA Akira for going to Japan, putting on his gameface, playing at his top level, and giving the opponent one hell of a challenge win or lose!!! This goes to anyone else who has ever gone over there and gave there all!!!

Wow, very impressive matches. Great work and you kept your cool when lesser men (myself) might have crumbled under pressure.

    Look forward to seeing more!

updated the previous page. I also saved one today against a really strong ass jacky. Played him 4 games and I only won 1 and that wasnt the one I saved but I'm not looking to show off wins but rather interesting matches. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Your TE'ing is great, especially in that match against SuperChan.

Against that Kage, how many inputs were you using, just 4, 2 and 3? Were they all on reaction?

    Thanks man /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif
When im eteg'ing, I only do two most the time and sometimes only one when I have a hunch the guy really wants a certain throw. I'll start with the most common ones, like for kage I see 3P+g (cuz its easy to do) and the tft (cuz theres no kage that doesnt love that throw) and will switch up which two I do according to what I see the oppoent wanting to use alot. I guess you can say they were reaction but to me its more like a feeling. I'm gonna get thrown, etc.

    No problem.
Also, that looks just like what I be trying to do, too. Except for ETEG I try my hardest to go for 3 inputs, the 2 i don't want to get hit with the most and neutral, but often times it just ends up being ETE instead.
Your guessing or yomi was just on fire during that match, cause I think you escaped like 97% of that guy's throws and he tried to throw you alot too.

Great use of evasive propertise. you danced around the ring and brought the game way beyond 100%. That's one of my difficulties is evading then reacting, I think it's the timing that throws me off.
