LA: 11/15 post-mortem!

Hey all,

Thanks for making the trek... we had 10 people - cam, amy (official photographer), spotlite, andy, mike, joey, brisal, plague, alex and sean. Not bad at all!

Personally I had my ass handed to me many times, but actually felt I learned a lot. I was breaking out of my CPU-inspired f+P+K, d/f+P+K+G pattern by the end of the night =] Also made some progress against Lei Fei (thanks for the tips Andy and Joey).

Some fun bouts (for me, at least) against spotlite, brisal and plague (although I was playing like crap against you Plague... sorry... seems like you and Alex had fun though?)

Aim took a bunch of photos... I'm too tired to look through them all, but I'll take a look tomorrow and post some of them on my website.

Once again - thanks for coming, and now we should organize the next one. Plague offered his place on Thursday Dec 5th (three weeks from now). I'm certainly willing to make the drive...

Me and and plague had a hell of a time near the end of the night. Pretty close games. it ended up 60%-40% in Plagues favor by the end of around 30-40 some bouts. Props to Plague for adapting to my Lei Fei.

Still learned a lot of stuff today. Better throw situations. Which how effective some sabaki moves are at some angles and most of all having a good time. Nice to see that no one ran around tearing their head off cursing after a loss. Pretty relaxed an casual group.

Post-mortem is right... Went to bed at 3am, got up at 7am, made it to my office by 8:20. My eyes are bleary and my speech is punctuated by various chunks of subdued gibberish:

"Hhey.. <font color="#666666">ghhhrstgahunngh</font color>, how's it goiing.. <font color="#666666">hhhhhaaaaunggh kish pehh? kehhhhhhhh</font color>. Me? Oh, yeah, <font color="#666666">ffffffffffkhte te *cough*</font color> I feel ffffine. Played a lot last night <font color="#666666">tehhhhh hooargh</font color>."

Last night kicked major ass.

Very cool to have met you both, Alex and Sean. Looking forward to your continued participation.

Alex: nice games. I like your use of distancing. I will dodge all subsequent Lei-Fei charge attacks.

Sean: I heard you mention that you were taking on Akira. Very cool. He's well worth the effort in my opinion.

I'll verify with Catherine about hosting in early December. I don't think it will be a problem. Official announcement will come soon.

Plague

 

oh man, Dec 5th is another Thursday....sorry can't go due to school. If ever you decide to go with FRIDAY sometime in January (or winter break - most of mid Dec to Jan), I'll clear out all plans and most def try to make it! Glad to see you had a showing of 10 people, looks like you guys are reviving the vf scene and I can only give you props for that. HOpefully I can get back into the friendly competition scene since I've been stuck with Kumite the last couple of months...well at least I'm getting practice in.

So if Friday is good for any of you, let me know and I'll get out there.
