I'm pretty sure some benevolent person will break down and help you, but you should really use the material provided in the different character threads. Not doing so spits in the face of the person who created them. All new people should realize this now that people don't write faqs for their health... also not reading them destroys motivation in those writers who are willing to continue writing them.

Thread moved from Junky's Jungle board.

Character specific questions belong in this board.

    And yeah, what Jerky said.

jerky, if that's the deal, then there is now meaning with a charachter and technique board. this board simplifies stuff, instead of getting confused with 10-100 pages faqs. allthough i do appriciate the vf wirters for putting down time into helping rookies like myself, but it may get to extended and to complicated from time to time, though.

I'm going to write a DECENT Lau FAQ. Now. Will be ready in a couple of days. Bye.

What I miss in the very good 'Emergency Lau Faq' is how to treat different opponents. For instance, Lau can not use his powerful combo's with Jacky and Vanessa. Now, it would be great to get selected moves and tactics for the different opponents in VF4.
Myself, I have most difficulty with Jacky and Vanessa. But there are others who require a different technique (Wolf, Akira, Kage, Aoi, Shun, ...)
If you could do that, that would make a great addition to the current Lau faq.
Anyway, the efforts you're making are very much appreciated. I'd do it myself... if I had the skill and experience.

first things first, PM Hyun, he's the writer of the Emergency Lau FAQ, he actually did a pretty good job i might add. he doesn't seem to be revising it too much though, i think.

gamefaqs.com still needs a GOOD Jacky FAQ, though.

2nd of all, against characters with auto-reversals(Jacky and Vanessa), you have to realize that in order for their reversals to work, they need to be standing still and NOT do anything...you realize that during this time they're completely open to throws and low-level attacks, don't you? /versus/images/icons/grin.gif just a hint

Thanks for the tip about auto-parrys and throws.
But you prove exactly my point. When you're learning the game, info like you gave on Vanessa and Jacky should be in a faq. In stead of fighting loads of Jacky's to find out for yourself, you would be able to check the moves in a faq and try them out for yourself.
Anyway, I wasn't looking down on the Lau faq (read my first line), but suggesting improvements.

not sure what you're going to include, but okizeme and option select sections would be nice.

    *whacks own head*
*to self*(i have to remind myself that i'm in the character training part of VF.com)

anyways, what i meant was maybe you could talk about ways to punish grounded opponents like when they tech-roll or when they try to use rising attacks for one section.

another section, you could include throw escaping; i'm not sure if you've heard about it, but it's called option select, like when you key in multiple throw escapes at one time.

hope that helped; did i sound a bit more clear now? /versus/images/icons/grin.gif

Nuff with the smart-arsing already. My eh? was to the option select. Never heard that one before. Still, all that ground-punishing is long finished. Suppose it's ready to be posted, but I'll see if there is anything worth adding with throw escapes. Why 'option select'? Makes no sense, that one. Cheers.
