I recently asked Zonchan for some help with Lei Fei combos versus Taka, and he kindly sent me all of his personal combos against the entire cast! Thank you, Zonchan, this is much more than I expected and is greatly appreciated! :notworthy:(y)

If you don't know who Zonchan is (aka Zonrenon), then you might have seen some of his amazing tournament performances in the past like winning the 2019 Beat Tribe Cup or when he defeated an entire team (OCV!) in the 2020 Pre Beat-Tribe Cup during the finals stage!

So, without further adieu, here are the combos which I've translated into English. If you're interested in learning why I reached out to him in the first place then you can read the back story at the end.

    Back Story
I started to learn how to play with Lei Fei a while ago, but since our scene here in Australia is quite small I don't really get a lot of match-up experience against the entire cast. It was only very recently that I started to play versus Taka, and boy did I struggle for not knowing the match-up! So, while playing online I was trying to get a handle on some basic combos to use by consulting the VFDC Combos, and saw that for his big launch 1P+K I was supposedly able to do the following in any stance:

    [1][P][+][K] > [4][P][+][K] > [6][6][3][P][P] > [K][+][G][P] (90 pts)

But during my match, Taka was always able to tech before the [K][+][G] and would subsequently get a free launch on me in return as whiff punishment. Frustrating! As it turns out, that combo is actually stance specific!

Then I remembered that Zonchan had a YouTube channel with optimal Lei Fei combos versus the entire cast. But when I went searching, I found that he's unfortunately deleted all the videos! I reached out to him via X asking if he could suggest some Taka combos for me, and he kindly sent through combos against the entire cast, which is what you see in this post.

    Next Steps
In terms of next steps, I plan on ensuring all of these combos are properly captured in the VFDC Combos database which means checking them across the entire cast as well as recording down the damage and Sober Point values. If anyone is willing to help with that effort, let me know! :ninja:

Zonchan has provided some updates with new combos for:
      • 2_6P+G vs VA, LI
      • 9K vs SH in open stance (prioritize damage)
      • 9K+G vs KA, LE, LA, BR in closed stance
      • 33PP vs WO, JE in open stance
Original post has been updated accordingly.

This is one of those "Asked for copper and got gold" things, lol.

This will be great. Lei Fei is a character I like to fiddle with. So this will be cool to have for a reference.

Thanks to the both of ya.
