London UK - Trocadero on Friday 9th

anyone going to troc on friday to play some VF? i'm thinking about going and having a few games from about 7pm.. haven't been there for ages due to house moving shenanigans. i heard they got HSF on the Versus City machines now.. very interesting.

anyway, anyone going?

 

I'll be there on Friday the 9th and Sat the 10th. I'm gettin picked up on the 8th from Manchester, travelling down in my mates MR2 (Red /versus/images/graemlins/cool.gif)at 7pm (I'm a 9to 5 er). getting to london for 11pm-12pm ish (Thursday Nite). Hopin to b in Troc from 5ish (probably a LOT earlier, knowing me!)
Who's gonna be there? Ryan said he'll be in Paris (Lucky Guy!) and is Iron Mike still in America? Hope he get's he's there, does any1 have contact detail's to meet him?
Is there any game shop's near Trocadero? I wanna get a new stick, my Namco one has been abused from my tekken day's. I'll be with my mate Will who also play's. Should be cool.

BTW What character's are the most used on VF? And I'm assuming they have Tag and HSF as well? Hope the stick's are up to scratch.

 

from 5pm? cool. as you're coming all the way from the Grim North i'll make an effort then. i should be there about 6 i think.

no idea who's going to be there.. that's part of the reason i'm posting this. hehe. typically it would be Jeffahn (uses Jeff, Wolf, Aoi) and VO (uses a shockingly good Vane) at least, but it being Good Friday i'm not sure what's happening.

as for game shops.. well there are a few in the general area, the main ones being Game Focus and CEX.. however both places are horribly expensive, and good luck finding a namco stick (those things are like gold dust hehehe /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif ).

the games on the versus city cabinets are vf4e, ttt, 3s, HSF and ggxx. the sticks can be a bit.. "rough".. though, which can be frustrating sometimes. i've heard that they're installing brand new controls for Absolution next week, so maybe we'll get lucky huh.

as for characters, well it's pretty varied. at tournies, sarah is the most popular choice (i think at the VF Ranking Battle, approx 8 of the 30 entrants were sarah players..). but there's no single dominating character, so it's all good.

Yeh, Namco Stick's are like gold dust, my current stick took me two years of internet searchin to get, I personally prefer them to the most loved SC2 stick, but that's just me. The T4 hori stick's are ok, as are the SNK Chaos (but bloody heavy!). I'll be with Will who uses Goh, I use Kage/Sarah and a few other's.

LOL, there other player's, but none of them are gonna travel, there all major busy, unforetunately I'm gonna try and make it a regular thing, if possible, I wanna improve my game, it's about time I got raped at VF, make me realise the standard the game can be played to.

 

i may come, too bad my travel card runs out during the week so i'd have to pay extra.... sheesh, i'll say a mabye.

 

I'll see if I can make it too. I need some human practise. Might be around 7pm like y'all said. Grab a bite too. Won't be staying very long as I'm not fond being in London at night.

Since I seem to have recovered from last fridays food poisoning /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif (still managed to beat Vo /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif )I'll be down on thursday and fri from 5p.m for some pre tourni warm up session's.

yeah friday was busy for VF! it's all good though. sunday had a biig turnout for a3 and HSF.. it's all good. top tier london players getting their praccy in hehe.

as for next thurs and friday.. well i think the VS City machines are getting moved to the abs venue on weds (downstairs somewhere in troc) and apparently from monday to wednesday the machine setup will be 2 x 3s and 2 x a3. i'm assuming that the other machine will be HSF, so basically there won't be vf4e in troc from today. *cries*

 

um i thought that abs at least for VF would be only on consoles, in that it said we could bring our own pads/joysticks.....

 

Good turnout on Friday, OK on Saturday. Good to see some Northeners make their way down; nice to play you all. I was thinking of going up to Manchester for play/holiday before my job gets really hectic in the summer, need to make some arrangements. Mo Imran (uk-guy) was on TV today -scary man! He was smiling like he just won the lottery. No mention of VF though, just some banter about MGS3 & some card battle game.
