Looking for some Old School VF (1&2) Guys: Orange County, CA

Hey all,

I am looking for some guys I used to play way back in the old days of VF. They were some Orange County, CA guys who I meet at an arcade on Western Ave in Buena Park (I think) and played a lot at Scamalot (Camelot). I think their names were Jason and Nick but they always called each other “Gusâ€Â. Don’t ask me why! Haha

Anyways, I am getting back into VF after a damn long hiatus and am wondering if they are still in the scene. I am guessing Nick is not (he was a tall Hispanic guy with glasses and a goatee). I suspect Jason might be still playing (he was about 5’9†brown curly hair and glasses). I think Jason (?) also drove a Ford Escort GT red.

Heh heh. I know this is a crazy ass question but I do remember these guys being hella fun to play with. Jason and I were decent “Jacky†players in VF1 but we kinda split off in VF2 where I played Jacky more and he went the route of mastering a lot of the rest of the crew. Geez, we used to drive miles to play a decent game in the day. There were so few dedicated players around.

Ah well. Either way, I guess I will be getting my copy of VF4 Evo ASAP and practicing up on Jacky (I suppose I should say Jerky). Man, I am also looking for some rec’s on good arcades/locations with good players. I realize I will be getting shellacked pretty well. Hee. I will probably start looking into some of the other characters too. Damn, VF still seems like the game for game play even after all these years.

We used to have a strong arcade scene at Arcade Infinity with vfnet cards. But since they probably wont upgrade to version B. We're all moving to Console meets.

There should be big VF tournaments coming to the LA area pretty soon such as the E3 tournament and EC5. Be sure to look out for one of those. Hopefully we'll see you at one of our console meets or our next tournament.
