Hey all. I was wondering if anyone's into boxing. On Saturday, I was able to watch Manny Pacquiao demolish Joshua Clottey over 12 rounds. Did anybody get a chance to watch it? And do you think he would ever get a shot at Mayweather?

We were talking about it on Shoutbox, well, I was at any rate.

I stayed up to watch that fight and was pretty unimpressed.

I hope he fights Mayweather at some point, I don't think he would beat him but I'd be interested to see wether or not he can take it to a decision.

I think the thing I hear people talking about more often than his actual fights is wether or not Manny is taking steroids. If he is then he needs to up his dosage if he wants to beat Floyd. He's good but I don't think he could take Mayweather.

I almost agree with you. The thing is that since Mayweather's last 4 or 5 fights, he's becoming quite comfortable with not being hit, with his superior defense. He spent a lot of his career learning to effectively avoid being hit. Manny, does not mind getting hit. In fact, he took a few right crosses (just a few) to the face in the Clottey fight. We know that Manny has tendencies to attack at weird angles on his opponents and it works. My concern is, could Mayweather take a punch or not.

Another thing, is that since I'm a Pacquiao fan, I don't think he's taking PEDs. But that statement could mean that I hope that he's not taking PEDs. It is bizarre that Mayweather's camp called him out saying that he took steroids. But I do admit that it is also bizarre that Manny did not undergo random blood test so that fight could happen.

My NIGGA!!! I like Pac but Mayweather will kill that boy.

    ||MIC|| Mayweather has a chin. He can take a punch but his superior defense makes them all glance off. You will never catch him dead on. Keep in mind against Zab judah he basically guarded the whole first 6 rounds of the fight until he tired out and Zab has power.

I agree mayweather would/should win. But there is always the possibility that father time will catch up with mayweather. he needs to make this fight happen before he slips.

Over the course of a year, he could lose a fraction, or a few fractions, of a second off of his reflexes. Suddenly all those punches that just glance just connect. All those that catch now land flush. And a solid punch could be a button punch.

In other words, I think mayweather is the superior fighter. But we all saw how quickly and dramatically roy jones jr lost it. the same thing could happen to mayweather if he delays too much in making this fight happen.

But longevity is impossible to measure proactively, so we will just have to wait and see.

Roy jones lost it because he started fighting heavyweights and he had a glass chin and no heavyweight power. Mayweather Is a Gym rat and is too cocky to let father time catch up that quickly. Floyd will make it happen after he fights mosely.

Pac is a very smart counter hit boxer. And to be that type of Boxer, you need to have heart, like the late warrior, Auturo Gatti. Maywheater is Boxing "101" all the way. He knows when to play defense and when to be offensive. And on top of that, his conditioning is like no other in the world of Boxing. He takes his workouts very seriously. A lot of boxers forgot the art of shadowing boxing and the importance of it this day in age. And Maywheater is one of the few pros who still does simple things like that and understands that every little routine in training is VERY important.

And SDS pointed out, Zab is no light puncher, homeboy hits hard! I love Pac, but Maywheater is to solid of a Boxer, mentally and physically. But, of course it all comes down in the Ring. Things happen.

That proposed fight could've made the most money in boxing history. They should just go ahead and make this fight happen, split it 50-50, so pac could pursue his political career, and floyd can go back to mtv cribs.

Why, when there is more money to be had. There is still a little hype left. Mayweather is going to milk it for what it's worth and frankly, I don't blame him. Gotta get your money right.

Well according to the fight, Manny has already started campaigning in the Filipines right? So it must not take up too much of his time. I mean either way he has to train and a political campaign will definitely get in the way.
