Mayflash Stick Worthy of Modding?

So I've just found out that the new 360 HRAP is crazy expensive and therefore looking at other possibilities for a stick. I've got a Weller soldering station lying about just waiting to be used and figure maybe I could mod myself a stick, perhaps one of these:

Question is, is it worth modding? I've grown very fond of my HRAP 2 and this thing looks a little smaller, probably lighter, and has the stick kinda far off to the left (which I've read on here is undesirable). I'd really hate to get into a project like this and not be 100% happy with the result at the end, so what do you guys think? Should I try to find a better case or bite the bullet and just pay the money for that 360 hrap? Even if I only saved $40 I'd consider it worth the effort; I bought the soldering station for projects like this after all. :p

"I've grown very fond of my HRAP 2" <--- mod it, not a mayflash.

Yeah, but I use it for like a dozen different ps2 games as well as kaillera. VF5 is my only 360 fighter purchase to date.
Thanks for the live friend invite by the way. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

I guess I should maybe hunt for another HRAP then (if I could possibly get a hold of a shell cheap). Should I try contacting someone to make just a shell for me?

You can do the same xbox360 switch mod ( that's stickied at the top of the joystick forum ) for a hrap2 as you can for a vshg; that way you could use it on both ps2 and 360.

If you're not comfortable with a multimeter + soldering iron, ask around on shoryuken.com to see how much it would cost to get the work done.

!?! I noticed the thread title but figured it was just some little mod or other. I didn't even dream such a thing as possible. I'll give it a much deserved look now.
    Many thanks!
