mDblmp on a PS2 pad...give me some hope!!

I know - buy a stick. /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif But I'm not too willing to import one, so I'll stick with a pad, at least for a while longer.

To the point - is there anyone out there who consistently and reliably does Akira's mDblpm, particularly after a SDE or mShrm with a pad?
I don't really have a problem with the move otherwise, after a [2][P] move for example, but I fear I'll be an old man by the time I finally get the mDlmpm after a yoho or Shrm. /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif
I know the drill - [3][3] while recovering from the last move, but doggone it, the [4][6][P] part always comes out wrong, or too slowly.
Even the SPoD isn't really that tough on the pad, just that blasted mDblpm. Ok, the knee (AM2 please look at that one) and DLC are next to impossible, but I can deal with it.
It's just kinda frustrating, since mDblpm is such a big part of Akira's game.
Pad users - give me some hope and tell me a select few of you can do the move reliably (in a fight) on a pad. That's all I want to know - that it's not as insanely hard as it appears.
    Thanks.

Yeah I know what you mean, have you tried QCF x 3 (real fast), neutral, [4][6][P]. I don't know for some reason, when I do 2, he thows out the standing palm. But when I do 3 it comes out way more consistently. Go ahead give that a shot.

If in doubt ask kungfusmurf for some tips. He's a pad playing Akira. I played him on a pad too for about 2 months but my thumbs just gave in. From my experiance you need to be real light and quick with the thumbs for stuff like DLC , knee and m-dbpms. Creed put up a vid somewhere of him doing 6 knees in a row on a pad so it's all possible , just takes patience and practice. /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I can do it without mistakes with a pad, it however took a months to master. I do it like sliding my fingers very quikly throught these buttons...[4][1][2][1][4][6][P]...it looks complicated but once I mastered this I never have any problems with it. And yes, I use backdash, I guess its only way doing it with a pad.

Yeah I forgot to mention that DLC on a pad took me ages to master...then I got a stick and started learning all over again! I found m-shrm quite easy to learn though and it'd its relatively straight forward. You could maybe rely on stuff like [3][3][P]>[P]>[2_][6][P]+[K]>[K]+[G][P] or something for now until you get the dbpm fully under your fingers. Any ways experiment with differnet ways of doing it in training or switch to something safer to use in a fight till you get good at it. IMO theres nothing more frustrating than trying to get a move out in a match that you can't do in training. /versus/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

ya i have this same problem with Lau's new move(which can be done by his stance too i think) i can do it from a backwards crouch dash but not consistently from a forward crouch dash, i'm really just not sure how the timing of the inputs is i guess, thank god i dont play Lau or Akira as my main characters

In those matches I was AKIRA-2P and I didn't win any of those matches, akirazero did. I wasn't the one who did the 6 knees in a roll it was AkiraZero using a Evo stick. But I did get the knee out twice within those 5 matches. Lastly we were justing messing around in those matches anyways. We were having too much fun to save the even better matches. /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Advice: be accurate and don't tense up it will slow down your reaction time disabling you to get out the moves or combos you need. Play human comp as much as possible if computer is all you have than it's not your fault.

I hope this helps, dude. /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

have u tried prerssing [1][1][6][P]? Make sure u let go of [4] before [2] on the last one. Not that difficult /versus/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Thanks for all the input ppl, I appreciate it a lot. I guess, like all things in VF, practice is the key.
