X series always surpassed the originals. It would be nice if they worked on both series. Whatever they do i hope they avoid the 3d attempts. Stick with the side scrolling!

The X series was good up to X5 or X6. After that, it went to heck. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cry.gif

I don't understand the logic on releasing this title on a system that doesn't track your purchases? Or better yet, the lack to transfer your purchases to a HDD. Oh Capcom, your humor astounds me.

I was getting a bit hyped up until I saw they was going to go back a decade or 2 with the old school gameplay and graphics..no longer interested

    Okkusenman! Okkusenman!!

And I don't think Switchnationer is very casual. I don't mind the throw back graphics and gameplay cause I really enjoyed those days of MegaMan. But I understand why others aren't looking forward to it.

I'd be happier if they were making a new megaman X, but I too am not excited in the least with the NES style graphics and gameplay. It's a lazy move by capcom.

Lazy and Capcom in the same sentence? Whatever could make you think that way?

After such masterpieces as Capcom Fighting Jam...

^ Want me to list the thirty thousand masterpieces they do have? lol

I duno, it might have been a lazy move, but I don't think it was. It is what it is. A throw-back styled game for fans, at a cheap price being a DLable game.

Mega man 8 was in the right direction for its time it seemed as if the series was going in the right direction forwards..not backwards.

oh yeh you're right Megaman 8 was a good step, but I personally think the throwback NES style is cool. Especially since the NES music was the best in the series too, imo. It's kind of like, making the most of out of limitations.

Megaman 1-3 maybe 4, still stand good these days IMO.

I'd also say that this shit would be much better as a handheld.

Totally agree. They should just make it both. And for PSN, make the game be both a PSP and PS3 DL.

I also agree with the NES games having the better music lol, but that might be bais/nostalgia setting in haha.

In my opinion I didn't like Rockman 8/Mega Man 8(despite having an awesome Drum and Bass like soundtrack) because I felt it was a step back from the previous installments and removed the Rush Adaptor from 6 and 7 and so on. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif

By the way, I don't want to see another X game ever again after the flops that were the 3D games/installments(X7, X8, and Command Mission). /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/sick.gif

    Thirty thousand? Go on then.

Joking aside, the majority of Capcom's games have been great for me (regardless of genre or release date), and they have a some incredibly good franchises that have been around for years now that are still going strong. Then you can take in to account the fact that they were willing to put their name on more crazier releases like Killer7, Okami, Phoenix Wright and God Hand that were all awesome and fresh, and most of the other stuff they bring out nowadays is all pretty good (the demise of Clover was a bad move though).

However, Capcom Fighting Jam was still a pretty lazy game from my point of view.

Yeah, look what to "those" studios that develop games like "Killer7, Okami, Godhand, Viewtiful Joe and P.N. 03" Capcom did them dirty. And the way they treated the guy who did RE4 was a bitch move on their part. This guy saved the franchise and inspired the current look of this gen. Capcom is going for the whole "EA, Activision" thing now. They're not going to take risk like they use to anymore. I don't think Capcom is done when it comes to creativity. They did manage to pump out games like "Lost Planet" and "Dead Rising" two titles I clearly enjoy, same could be said about Phoenix Wright. Plain and Simple, change is a Motherfucker, doesn't mean I have to like it.
I went of topic, but my issue still stands on the whole Wiiware nonsense on MM9. Stupid move Capcom.

NES megaman did have the best music hands downs. Though I loved MMX4's music.

I want to see an new X game given that they go back to the old 2D style gameplay or fix their feeble attempts at a 2.5D

ShinobiFist likes to bicker and whine about things, doesn't he? /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/tired.gif

By the way, I think X4 had one of the weakest soundtracks of the X series. The only songs that stood out in that game were X's and Zero's themes and Sigma's final form theme. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif

Is this sarcasm or? lol Cause I'm lost.

I think this is the definition of taking a risk. Bionic commando sounds like a risk to me. SF4 in itself is a risk. The new Vs. Game could be a large risk too.

But yeah, totally agree with you about CFJ Ash Kaiser lol. I think it was too ambitious and not enough work put into it.
