Montreal - Lets get something going.

I'm bored of fighting Fagan 98% of the time, and Myke a few times every 2 years. I'd like to see some new faces.

After July 1st Fagan and I will be living together at the corner of Bellechasse and Christophe-Colomb. We'd be more than willing to host a little meet and beat.

A few things:
- We have 3 arcade sticks, so no worries there.
- I have a cat, sorry if you're allergic.
- If you're a bit young (under 18, no younger then 16 sorry), I don't mind you coming, but it is a bit awkward. If you're parents drop you off and would like to talk to make sure we're not dirty old men, that's ok.
- If we do organise a shindig, I don't mind buying a few beers for the gang.
- If you're not legal to drink, you're not going to partake in said beers. I have to be responsible at some point in my life I guess.


So yeah that's that for now. Once we're settled in we'll try to figure a time that would be convenient for most people.

I’d like to second that motion, playing against Cuz all the time is slowly killing my soul. We really do need to put together a crew (no matter how small) for the Montréal area. Anyway, we don’t bite, we are only mildly annoying (anything Myke says to the contrary is a huge unadulterated lie), and we love VF, so don’t be shy and let us know if your interested. I mean there has to be at least a few decent VF players in Montreal.

to represent the South Shore in the 450, I would like to join in the fun.

Let me know what beer eveybody likes and I will bring a case.

I got an a custom Sanwa stick and 2 PS2 Saturn Controllers if needed just in case if needed.

I'm definitly interested in a gathering. I'm also getting tired of playing with the same people, which happens to be by myself when it comes to VF. I haven't had the chance to play recently thanks to exams and such, but now that they're finally out of the way now's the perfect time to start training again.

Anyway it's cool you guys are trying to breathe life back into the Montreal VF scene. By the way, what do you guys think are the chances of Montreal getting VF5, or even FT?

 

Yesterday, I went to Amusement 2000+ to ask the big guy who work night shift to get FT by taking out one T5DR.

the cabinets are all crammed together with no elbow room, epsecially the Capcom vs SNk2, Street Fighter III 3rd Strike and Marvel vs Capcom 2 cabinets.. all three machines crammed together

Starting the 8th of august, and every Tuesday after that, we'll host a little VF session for who ever wants to play VF in the Mtl region.

All right this is starting to look like we could get a regular little game going. So in general how are Tuesdays for you guys? I know they’re ok for me and Cuz (we have pretty flexible schedules).

The question about sticks is really up to you Wasted, if you want to bring ‘em over that would be cool (personally I love checking out new sticks /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif but if it’s a hassle to drag them out don’t worry about it … we have 2 hori arcade pros (the tekken special edition), 1 hori evo stick and … the 4th one is a hori something but I can’t remember the details right now. So all in all we’re doing ok in the stick department.

VF5 in Montréal would be sweet Stealth Fox, but honestly I think the first time I touch that game will be on a PS3 … but man do I ever hope I’m wrong, a VF5 cabinet here would be just too damn sweet!


Currently we have 3 players that are 100% sure to be there:

- Me (lei fei addicted VF old schooler)
- Cuz (uses just about everybody and has a sponge like ability to absorb VF info)
- Bjorn (new to VF but is extremely enthused to learn, oh yeah he’s a jacky player)

As cuz said he’ll be gone next week but I’ll still be around so feel free to drop me a line (same contact info as cuz). So as of now the tentative date for this gathering (1st of many I hope) is the 8th of august … who can make it? And if ya can’t, is there a date that would be better for you?

 

Plus Myke flew from Australia just to play against us, so the rest of you have no excuse not to /versus/images/graemlins/wink.gif

When you say "Big ass HDTV", how big are we talking about? What brand? Can you describe it in one word?

On Tuesdays come after 6 and before... oh 11 and we should be fine. Other then that you could always just give us a shout and we might be willing to play anyways /versus/images/graemlins/wink.gif

32 inch Samsung or Panasonic... I forget. Anyways it's good enough quality to make Evo look like shit /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I say Beaubien, but Fagan thinks is Rosemont. If you're taking the orange line north stop at Rosemont, and the other way Beaubien I guess /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Basically it's one stree south of Beaubien and one street north of Rosemont.

 

oh the TV is one sweet piece of tech ... i`m secretly in love with it (don`t tell Cuz, he`ll get pissed) ... oh and the closest metro is rosemont ... it`s about 10 minutes walk from our place (maybe even less).

Tuesday nights, hmm... I'll see if I can make it as well. I'll have to see how things go with time, transportation, etc. I'll be starting school pretty soon as well, so maybe I can arrange my schedule to fit these gatherings more easily.

 

Listen we picked Tuesday because our girls have kick boxing, if it's a hassle we can pick another night. Or maybe one Saturday per month we convene here on top of the Tuesdays? Or just every Saturday or any other night. Or just fuck off when ever we're available. It really makes no difference. Honnestly I just want to have a little VF gang /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Oh and we're both bilingual in case someone isn't 100% comfortable in english /versus/images/graemlins/wink.gif
