First of all I'd like to thank all of those who have helped me on my previous posts; you've really helped my akira game alot and it's rare in todays world with people who actually care about helping someone with nothing in return. I love this board...

My problem, this time, is doing a elbow to a double palm. Example; [4][3][P][G] > [6][6][6][P] > [2][4][6][P]... I have tried many things but I have trouble connecting the double palm... not only here but in juggles aswell. I think [?], I should make the input instead as [3][3][4][6][P] at somepoints (or always when I should do it fast?) but I'm not sure and it seems to take *alot* of time to do (so that a quick [2][4][6][P] so the animation almost doesn't shows even feels quicker). That back push throw to elbow to dblplm is really annoying me... I'm still playin' ver C btw.

Thanks alot for any help I can get.

Unless you're already crouching, you can get the Dblpm out faster with [3][3][4][6][P].

If you buffer in the [3][3] during elbow recovery, it will appear that Akira goes instantly from elbow to doublepalm execution (you will not see the CD animation in between). What's cool about this is you can CD in either direction and still execute m-Dblpm correctly.

thats my problem with akira i can't do all those modified moves in a row it's just so much to press during such little time! even without tons of modified palms or whatever there's still plenty of [4][6] and stuff like that.

Actually, there is a large problem that most people have when performing any 'modified' moves.

When attempting, for example, the double palm. You must input [4] to [6], from the nuetral position. Also, you do not have to buffer in a crouching 'forward' dash all of the time, a crouching 'backwards' dash can also be applied to force a crouch.

see on a joystick i could see that being soooo much easier(if i could only do angles well) because i dont think you're thumb is meant to be THAT fast and dexterous alone. While the Pad has the "advantage" of the shoulder buttons the joystick still has lots of other little control advantages...

I know where you're coming from using a control pad.I played as Akira for about a month or so with apad but my hands just couldn't take it.The thumb motion for stuff like DLC or m-Dbpm isn't nice at all so I'd highly recomend getting a good stick.Don't get me wrong it's possible to play all chars well with a pad it's just that I've been playing Akira for about 6 months now ( about 4 with a crap stick, 2 with a good one ) and it definately improved my game. /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I see your problem, and as csnape mentioned, using a stick is probably the only way you`ll ever make it work. Modified doublepalm is the only move I too cannot do, so now I`ve decided to buy a stick. However, if it`s just doing it quickly, that`s your problem, you can do a move that puts you in a crouch position i.e. [3][P]+[K] or [2][P], and then buffer in [4][6][P]. Especially the [2][P]>[4][6][P] works well. If you`re interested in doing doublepalm as a standalone attack, try [1][1][6][P]. In the second [1], try realeasing [2], and then [4], making it possible to only press [6][P] to finish the move. Just ask if you`ve got more problems

Another way to modify a dbpm which may be easier on a pad ( I don't know I haven't checked ) is to roll the crouch dash.By this I mean you can get away with
[1][2][1][4][6][P] or something like it anyway.I alwys find it easiest to modify a move " in the direction " I'm going eg if I'm fighting left to right the combo
[4][6][P]>[P]>[3][3][4][6][P] ( an Akira staple ) is easier to me than doing
    [4][6][P]>[P]>[1][1][4][6][P].
Like it says above you can always pull out a [4][6][P] from a crouch to give a double palm like in the combo
[4][6][P]>[2][P]>[2_][4][6][P] but the timing on the down punch is strick and I think it does less damage than the other one I listed.Modifying shrms and dbpms in mid float is the way to really max out damage with Akira when you whipped someone into the air.If your interested in any more combos you could check out the long post I'm doing on them but above all it generally just takes practice. /versus/images/graemlins/cool.gif

I find [1][2][1][4][6][P] on pad being very, very hard...

But I`ll check your post /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

It's also possible to do stuff like
    [1][P]+[G]>[2][3][6][4][P]
where the directions you press aren't a " pure " dbpm but it will still come out after the SE or ST.Sgpm works just as well and when you've got your head totally around this trick you can do some SE >sgpm>dbpm style shenanigans for some serious kudos.I'm no Akira expert by a long way but if you have any more queries about Akira stuff feel free to PM me or leave more posts. /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif
