a Korean film two to three years old sometimes refer to as Wushi....first film i bought in many years...highly recommended....reminded me of a mix between Braveheart/Saving Private Ryan type of film...

Don't know how many people have actually heard of it but a good film with some depth to story and nicely choreographed action scenes

There are 2 versions of this film. The Chinese one cuts out at least 20 minutes of character/story development from the Korean original. Unfortunately, I saw the Chinese edit so it was rather bland to me since nothing was explained well.

I think I might have seen the beginning part of the movie (if this indeed is the same movie).

Remote possiblity of spoiler (I'll try to be vague)

Chinese might be offended because they are portrayed as the double-crossing, back-stabbing, snobbish, bad guys in the movie. They are responsible for putting the Koreans in the situation that they end up in and leaving them to die. At least that's what I thought from watching the beginning. Maybe they did other terrible things during the remainder of the movie?

I think i have the edited version also...but i guess i was watching it for the first time in cantonese (thought it was a chinese film...) then notice that character conversations did not seem right. First time watching not overly impressed with story, but watching it a second time in original voices it was much better since i also got a second time to watch through the show and notice a little bit more of the characters and some depth to them...but you have to somewhat take the time to see it.....maybe that is why i never find out one of the subcharacter's name....maybe that got cut in the breviated version...

...either way i was impressed to see this type of action (no flying invincible stance)....but somewhat melodramatic though towards the end...

I prefer not to add to my initial comments, actually...I wasn't particularly offended, though I noted all the little things that were happening onscreen. However, some of my Chinese friends were really ticked off by the movie.
