Haha, and here I was hoping I'd see my name pop up for making thought-provoking posts, or spurring on discussion. I had to go and pet my cat backwards for 10 minutes just to make myself feel better. SMB - why don't we play each other more often?

Fuck b/c you ducking me!!! NOT REALLY. IDK, i rarely ever see you one, i think our schedules don't match up. IT looks like i am going to be out of commission for about half a month or longer, doesn't look like i'll even be able to establish offline, but when i am back on lets schedule some player, i'll adjust my schedule if you will.

I appreciate this man. And hey, I think I do come off as more irritating than helpful, so you're absolutely right. Sometimes people get either pissed off, or really enjoy what I have to say. I have problems breaking things down lightly over the internet, text or otherwise.

Thanks for the kind words, DeathSushi, Smb, Social Ruin, Cozby (I remember when you first joined vfdc :D) TrueSonic (I didn't know that, thanks for sharing).

I'm sorry bro, not trying to make light of what you wrote here but if you think that Seed is going to help you beat him, well /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

On another note, I do want to give a nod to LGT. With the advice that he has given me I've become a stronger opponent for him. He still beats me more but now I give him more of a challenge and that makes the game that much more fun for both of us.

Another nod to Flash for making that vid. You coulda kept all that knowledge and how-to for yourself but everybody knows that you want all of us to grow and get to your level or even higher. The advice that you gave me regarding 2P lead to a VF epiphany that has snowballed into something greater. Every single day I play I see something that needs fixing and I get on it and try to kill it or reprogram it.

Shoutout to Konjou for being the voice of reason a lot of times and to Stompoutloud for the good convos coupled with good fights. Both these guys give great advice too.

And last but def not least: Maddy.
VF misses you man, I really do wish that VF5R would come out next year and that it would bring you back with it.
You didn't show me how to deal with Akira, you taught me how to look at the game differently. Probably the biggest VF epiphany I've ever had was after your visit had ended and about a day later everything you said started clicking and making sense. It was a delayed reaction but it hit me like a ton of bricks. And to think that you were only here for a weekend, I can only imagine how much I would learn/grow if you lived closer. I've played a number of people online and then offline during NYG7 but nobody played as different offline as you did. It was like night and day.
Thanks again for everything, hope to hear that you're back in the game soon.

Honorable mention: Overfiend, stop messing around with them shootemups and get back to the best beatemup. Seriously, your presence on VF5 online is sorely missed.

Wow, what a great idea for a thread.

Well 2008 for me will be remembered as the year of the Lei Fei. Because for the most part, that's what I was always playing. The people I would play on a regular basis were Cozby, Social ruin, Wasted wish, Vfnumbers, and a few of my Japanese friends. all of these players gave me a hard time and all played differently. It got to the point where I felt the need to learn how to shut down Lei fei instead of figuring out how to fight my opponent (I think that answers your question SMB).For all the time you guys put in playing me I thank you and I hope that we can continue to play each other in the year of the Pai. I mean 2009.

But my top MVP's of 2008 are None Other and Masared. between the two of you I have learned soooooooo much about this game. The 3hour+ marathons that we've had were amazing. I lost a lot but I got back so much in return. I just wish you guys didn't get board with this game so that we could play more. I think the absence of the two of you have made me really crappy lately /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif

Plus thank you to all of the VFDC members I have played this past year. all of you keep this game fresh and exciting for me. here's to many more in the future. CHEERS!!!

i like playing u mistah tee, because win, lose, or draw, there is always seems to be at least a sliver of a shared journey for knowledge of the game. There is generally some discussion afterward of shared advice, tips, and suggestions. No one holds back, at least i dont and dont think u do, in fear that the next match will be one-sided with the new information. I would also like to deathsushi to this compliment and nn8989. These and the ones mentioned before are just some of the people that make vf5 a community.

I'd say Myke, but I'm such a fanboi that people might cry foul. So I'll say Biggz. You went from the person I couldn't wait to see banned, to one of my favourite personalities here. Good on you.

    <3 Myke

I think a lot of people here appreciate Myke, even the ones who would never say it and specially the guys that say things like "get off his cock". Those guys get mad when they hear other people say nice things about Myke because they actually have sexual fantasies about him and they get very jealous.

    Thank you, man.

I wish I could play VF more, but I dont have time to play, and its not my XBox as you know, so I need to go my friends house to play VF, but its kind of pain in the ass.

So I might get my XBox if I can. then we can play more than before.

I had always fun to play you too, its almost no lag and I really like your style. I learned alots of Sarah's moves too.

Oh, and I'll tell about this to Masa-san, Im pretty sure he doesnt check this site now, so...yeah /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

    My turn:

I'm going to add the tail end of 07 into this too.

Unsafe Dan: If it wasn't for this guy, I probably wouldn't have even given VF a new chance. Either that or I'd end up playing it retarded and wouldn't have improved. If you see some of his posts on this site from the past 2 years or so, you'd see that he has helped alot of people learn how to play VF, and he even helped those on srk(like only a couple who even cared to play. vf doesnt exist on srk... hahaha) that were interested in the game, to come over here.

Kaminari_Oyaji: Thanks to him and Unsafe Dan, for showing me how to actually "play VF" and all the Sarah stuff they've shown me, and all the Sarah stuff me and Kaminari would discover later on down the road.

Lucky: Who I've played the most. We played SF games with each other alot, I had forgot that he was also on xbl at the time. I was playing a ranked match of VF and this Lion player showed up, then afterwards he sent me a message he's like "This is Lucky" I was like oh snap you got VF???? Way back when he was using Lion and I was having a 'choose a main crisis, with Sarah' cause I had a hard time against every opponent I faced no matter who it was. But, me and Lucky would just play private sessions for hours all the time, both of us getting better and better and it started to show on everyone else we played against who had started playing VF when we did. Mad player match sessions back before the update where you had to keep creating the room after matches too. We were both going to battle each other 10th Dan/Master back a whole year ago, but then we both ended up passing it playing others.

Glory: When I first played him, his connection was mad laggy and I got frustrated and didn't want to play him anymore. I played him again and everything was all good from then on out, and he jumped in on the player match rotations with Lucky.

Denkai: The very first time I played him I got so close to beating him, then later on I had played him again and got so close again. He always pulled out the win no matter what. Glory told me that he was learning alot about VF and Jacky, from Denkai so I had started to play him more especially since Denkai kept joining my games hosted, lol.

Jerky: This dude is the coolest. I didn't even get to play him until like the spring or something by that time I was actually able to give him a challenge. He has also been helpful in me learning VF. Plus we had some serious fun playing Left 4 Dead a couple weeks ago(yo man get back on that shit!).

Oh yeah and special shout to DaBadSeed for being my VF matchup kryptonite.

    MVP(people) Awards goes as foll0wing......
Dabadseed - I love this MOFO like a Big Brother. Fate put us together in 93' and the bond got stronger. Looked out for me at the NYG7 tour and i owe him alot. Reads My mind and thinks on the same wave length as Me.He keeps me sharp in VF5 whenever et to play. There is no clear cut winner between and its going to be that way for a while. The ultimate shit talker who can back it up! NUFF FUCKING RESPECT!!!! The only mofo with a Aoi that looks like Alicia Keys.

Akmaal - The Same person who made me leave VF4 and miss VF4:Evo brought me back to VF5. HE throughly schooled me with his Lei Fei and El Blaze. What amazes me still is contrary to pop beliefs me and Seed Taught him the ropes and he ran with it. I have nothing but the utmost respect for this dude. Seed Intoduced to him back in 2000 and we been warring in every fighting game possible since then. He once toldmei better not ever quitbecause somebody used my character. You will eventually face people who use that character all over the world so get used to fighting mirrors whether you like it or not. NUFF RESPECT!!!!

T-Fam- Being one of the coolest cats to ever game with. He know how bad i dislike Lau and i know he Silently laugh about while getting under my skin with the basics. After NYG7 its was evident that to me he's a person that i can chill around even if its not just to play games but to polly and Build with. NUFF RESPECT!!!

Denkai -For showing what perserverance can lead to. The first time i played Denkai he whupped my ass like i stole from him. This force me to get back to the Dojo and make a better showing in which i did. Very Cool dude in person and i always learned from watching him play. Always improving and always a threat. BIG UPS!!!!

Yosuke -Got my ass totally destroyed by the basics. Defensive ability is almost psychic. He's the reason i Spent 3 hours Fuzzy guarding training (I made a training drill cause of this.). He is the reason why i started trying to play more defense instead of being offensive minded and evade all the time. Made me value the ability to throw escape more and use proper spacing. Big UPS!!!!

VFNumbers- Kept improving with every close win i snatch in rank from him.His Lei Fei dangerous has some wicked set ups.One of the few who basically scrap a rush style and incorperated a defense that sets up the O even better. Ihaven't play him in a while but he is another person who i can VF5 with and soak it up like a sponge and actually improves.

B.Feck - One of the First VF5 player i had on my list after first playing the game. Improved Tremendously from when we first met. We don't chat much but the respect is there. Caught me Slippin when he used another account and punished my lazy antics. He even Send me a message to ensure i come back to redeem myself cause i was frontinglol!. I had to cause that lost did'nt sit well lol! Nuff Respect!!!!

IllCoz - You not a rookie anymore man so the learning is over with lol! Fearsome Lei with a lovely ability to change stance without losing himself. He is also a Sponge and coming along lovely.I must play some more games with the Coz this year.

SMB -For being a gamer. We both have the same tendacies to want to throw objects afer loses wh should've avoided in ranked lol!
We spent hours chatting and going over tips and tricks that i learned that should and supposed to be passed down to up and comers to create a better community. One of the Coolest people just like TFam to chat with. I like the fact he always aiming to get better.

Gl0ry85 - My first Jacky rival. Our encounters are legendary lol! I watched his growth and became awoke to how fast he caught on to the nuances of VF5. He made me prove myself to him time after time. Not on some cocky nonsense but as a player thats willing to adapt. Remember Loses don't sit with me well. He went from below average jacky player to a Good Jacky player.I got to meet him at NYG7.He heard my name called by Konjou and said oh shit!! your ass is here and showed love.he felt the same way i felt being there along with Gentlementhief (We'll keep that on the low.) lol! Nuff Respect!!!

Konjou -I remember playin Konjou when i first got VF5 and i was just raw with no training using tatics from VF4. He was a Warrior and i thought i could've beat to rank up quicker and i was like a 4 dan.We played 3 close battles on Sarah stage and i manage to walk away with a moral victory and 3 loses.I cursed myself for not winning those close matches. I remember swearing that i could beat him but i was just doing something wrong. We played a few player matchs and he used Brad. I won a few but i wanted His Akira.I sent him a message and he reply and i took it the wrong way thinking he was a asshole!!! After meeting him in person and NYG7 and seeing him conduct bussiness on and off VF5 he was one of the Coolest Brothers i ever met.
Always one to give advice and never turn a cold shoulded i expect to play more against to see if i have what can get me over the hump. Nuff Respect Konjou!!!!

These are the first people who come to mind as far as my growth and development goes. Sorry if i forgot otherw who i play with that deserves it i'll repost and get you out there.
