1. Hey Guest, looking for Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown content? Rest assured that the game is identical to Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown so all current resources on here such as Command Lists with frame data, Combo Lists and the Wiki still apply. Myke does alot for this site and we owe him our thanks. He almost does too much.

I went to a gathering 2 years ago just out of the blue because VF4 EVO was my favorite game of all time and I wanted to play against other players. It was there that I met Myke. At the time my level of play was not up to par with his so I didn't get that many games but that was understandable different ends of the totem. It was there that he got to see what my Wolf character looked like. When I got home and signed up with the VFDC he had an avatar of my Wolf character red ponytail with silence of the lambs mask there wating for me I thought that was awesome that he did that for me.

I had a thread deleted a while ago, and he personally apologized to me using my real name and was sincere about it. I knew that my thread would probably get deleted because it was speculative in nature. I didn't let it get to me because the apology was real. So don't go panicky if you get a thread deleted just think of the validity of it before you post it ( something I need to realize myself). And if you get banned it's because you were probably threating other people and not there playstyle, or getting overly foul and offensive with your language.

I saw a picture of Myke at a tournament a while back with team Aussie Beef and he looked really tired. As a fellow VFDC'er I think you should put the site on hold and have the moderators Plague Shag KoD Akai etc., watch it for a month and catch up on some sleep and come back and have a new feel for the site. I thought to myself that I lose alot of sleep with the site. To date I have seen every video of VF5R and I'm on here every day as of recently I don't wan't to spoil the experience when it comes out. So the advice is probably good for me too.

Anyways thanks to Myke for all that he does for this site!!! Everyone should cut him some slack he truly does alot for this site. Get alot of rest Myke you have deserved it!!!

Yeah I've given Myke my fair share of headaches XD. But we're all human eh?

But yeah Virtua Fighter definitely wouldn't have the effect it has on so many people without VFDC, and the efforts of all the passionate users. I definitely look up to the older guys that have been sticking to Virtua Fighter for years on end, and hopefully in the near future I'll become at least some sort of an emulation.

So big ups to not only Myke but all of you guys here & I'm trying to meet as many people as possible and NYG7. In fact I'm bringing a blank skateboard deck and you all gotta sign it!

erm... WHERE"S VFDC MEMORALIA?!? I want some.. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif even a t-shirt will do

September 5th, 1999 there was a huge fire in Toronto that wiped out two neighbourhoods over a 13 hour period. I was helping a friend out by working in their pet store for the weekend while they took a vacation. the pet store was near the epicenter of the fire.

Myke didn't know me then but he still rescued me and 12 hamsters from that inferno. While I was resting with an oxygen mask on the curb he gave two pieces of advice I've never forgotten: "walk at +12 and the world's your bitch". He then turned and walked away, backlit by the still raging fire. I remember he was almost out of sight when he paused and looked back at me. I couldn't even see his lips move because of the distance and smoke and burning children running back and forth but I still heard his voice like he was right next to me.

"Kage equals Autowin"

Then? he simply vanished from sight. And six days later VFDC was born.

I hear he walks at +15 now.

Damn! I almost busted a gut!

Honestly though, I would be surprised if anyone who has visited this site on a regular basis over the years didn't have the upmost respect for Myke. There’s no doubt that VFDC has prospered from the hard work, initiative and passion of many people (lets not forget Ice-9; VFDC’s founder either) whether they’ve been moderators, regular members or both.

However, Myke consistently takes it upon himself to maintain and improve this site for the benefit of all, probably to the detriment of his other interests and duties, so I’m always humbled by his continued desire to support the western VF community (and beyond) and I hold him in the highest regard.

I don't think Myke's all that great to be honest. In fact, I heard he's not very good looking either! The guy as my avatar, however, is one slick looking fucker!

Kudos to Myke for one of my favorite sites may it never die. Thanks for giving us fools, jerks and sometimes asswipes a place to visit and discuss the best fighting game bar none.

Thanks Myke

I don't know who he is personally but I must thank him for providing the only place where us VF'ers can come together and discuss the worlds best fighting game.

THE_WALL, thankyou for the tribute, it is an honour /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif But, I cannot take credit for some of the things you claim that I did, particularly the avatar! It was just one of many images that was used for the VF4Evo Items FAQ. I had also made them available in the forum avatar library, so it's cool that it appealed to you, but I didn't actually make it for you personally! Sorry! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

As for my ugly mug looking tired. Well, one thing people tend to forgo when they're on a VF related trip is sleep! That's probably why I looked tired. OK, who am I kidding, I always look that bad! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

Again, I'm honoured that you want to thank me in public. But, I hope you don't think I spend every waking hour on the VFDC treadmill as if it's a chore. Far from it! Doing things VF related is a hobby for me, and is something I continue to enjoy.

A heart felt thanks, and "my pleasure", to everyone else for expressing their appreciation.

Just wanted to chime in and say thanks, Myke.
I don't know if you guys remember not that long ago when vfdc went down. Those were bad times. When vfdc went down I got so depressed that my wife at the time couldn't take it anymore and she divorced me. My dog ran away and I found out that I wasn't my kids' real father. Damn milkman /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/mad.gif

Seriously though, I really did miss vfdc while it was down. It's one of the best fighting game sites, dedicated to the best fighting game out and as if that wasn't enough, it's also got some of the coolest people /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cool.gif
Thanks not only for the site, Myke, but also for putting up with some of us crazies /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crazy.gif

Yeah, I really can't say I would have stuck with VF in the way I have without this site and its many available resources being here. And to that, I can't thank Myke or anyone else involved enough. Really glad I stumbled into VF, and this community. My thanks go to everyone here, but especially Myke-

I would have still played VF like I do now. (Shit I'd probably win more because
people wouldn't have all this frame shit to rely on!) That being said due to this
site the competition is better and I would have eventually gotten bored sitting
at home beating the stuffing out of people going, "Lawlz I'm the shit."

I cannot say anything that wasn't already said, so "ditto." I am grateful for VFDC. I only purchased the 360 so I could play VF again, and I only did that because I saw there was a community of people to play with here. Microsoft owes you commission, Myke!

On the real, VFDC is a contribution to the entire fighting game genre! Really., It is the hallmark of fighting game websites. It not only sets the standard for discussions and information quality about VF but fighting games in general. There is more analysis about fighting game techniques on VFDC than anywhere in the world. Myke does an excellent job keeping this a high quality site. There are many DOA, Tekken, SC players that use discussion, analysis, and techniques discussed on this site as a benchmark for their own sites and site discussions.

IMHO VFDC is more than just a website its a virtual home, or virtua cafe where VFers can keep in touch and talk about anything involving the game or virtually about anything else for that matter. There is an incredible range of people from all over the world, representing virtually every age group that are
frequent readers/posters on VFDC.

On the real, Sega and AM2 should consider VFDC as one of its major marketing partners. I know people who bought the game and would not have purchased it if it had not been for the interaction, support, and image of the game that they got from VFDC.

Myke you might not realize it now, but this site is one of the things that have kept the fighting genre alive and it already has
considerable 'historical value'. The entire 3d fighting game community owes VFDC a debt /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/tired.gif As the notion of virtual martial arts becomes more mainstream, VFDC will eventually be
recognized as ground zero, the epitome of fighting game analysis
and character reference, resource and information. It will eventually be recognized as the viceroy of fighting game websites /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

Keep up the good work, and thanx for one the best places to go on the Internet. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbs_up.gif
