Namco versus Capcom

Look for news or an announcement within the next week. Possibly a trailer at ComicCon. Everyone was wondering why Ono and Harada were teasing each other on stage at EVO. This looks to be the reason why.

 

If it turns out to be true... too bad I was really hoping that the big upcoming Capcom title would be Darkstalkers.

EDIT: Actually, Ono said yesterday that it will be in 2 weeks

 

I kind of thought it would be Darkstalkers as well, but guess I was wrong like most... I have no clue how a Namco vs. Capcom game would look or play so I can't say I'm excited. The look will most likely be cell shaded like MVC3, SF4, SSF4, etc. Honestly I'd take a hand drawn CvS2, third strike type of game over what's become the standard today.

Well here is to hoping it plays good, has interesting characters and is not broken.

 

Yeah, to be honest, I don't think Street Fighter Vs. Tekken would be a good idea, I'm sure I would enjoy it anyway. I think there should be a Dead or Alive Vs. Virtua Fighter, one of the reasons is that they both have the exact same story:
An evil corporation hosts a fighting tournament in order to secretly kidnap fighters while trying to create the ultimate fighter.

 

VF and DOA both have slightly small cast of fighters (especially VF, as we all know), their gameplay are sort of opposite, one with a simplistic rock-paper-scissor concept and the other hard to master. They could make the potential crossover have a choice of either gameplay or a mixture or something, I don't know, just speaking my mind, any thoughts from anyone?

 

BTW, MarkMan already hinted on this a while ago. Stop acting like you have actual sources or better yet...Skills in VF, Street Fighter 2 ST or 3rd Strike fam.

 

I'm still hoping it's Darkstalkers or Powerstone, I know that Ono already stated that it wasn't Darkstalkers but i'm going to take that with a pinch of salt after seeing how many times David Jaffe lied leading up to the announcement of Twisted Metal 3.

EDIT: Won't be Namco vs Capcom btw, i'd bet this whole sack of potatoes on it.

Nothing new yet but I bet you Aksys games is working on on the 'Namco vs Capcom' game. Their recent countdown page along with the rumors being thrown out are almost too coincidental. I certainly would be surprised!

Namco versus Capcom AND Capcom versus Namco. Two games is now the rumor.

 

This'll look very strange but I can't wait to see how their both gonna go about doing this. If Arc Systems are also announcing a fighting game on the 23rd that'll be an awful lot of competition for a potential FS release.

 

It's legit and it is two separate games. Media for both come Saturday for sure, but possibly tomorrow.

Also 3S Online was announced. SSFIV is getting news costumes for both arcade and consoles. And Ono confirmed that arcade SSFIV would have new characters and they'll be identified at Super Battle Opera (or TGS).

I rather see Namco version of Tekken vs Street Fighter and hope for the best, because I don't like the Capcom version. I just don't like Street Fighter 4 graphics and gameplay.

 

Can't wait to see the tier list for this.
