Name Change

    Could one of the administrators change the name of the match making thread to something different like VF Community. Match Making just sounds like your trying to find yur signifficant other, and considering that most of the people here are guys that just doesn't sound right.

    Gatherings should actually go under "Events". Why not join those two? Most people post in wrong forums anyway or double their posts. :p

    So I started this thread to hopefully change the name of where we find opponents. I remember the first time that my friend told me about it and it sounded weird, then my dad saw it and didn't quite sound right to him, and then I think to myself if I tell someone about match making will they think it weird. Of all the suggestions that have been given so far I think VERSUS CITY sounds the best its really catchy and I think it will bring in the players. I know its an old thread name but it just sounds right. If there are any other suggestions lets brainstorm, who knows maybe something will sound more catchy.

    I disagree.

    Here's one vote to change the forum named "Match Making" into something more catchy like "Hot Gay Sex". That way no one would get confused.

    I disagree on both accounts. "Most people" have been using both forums correctly as far as I can tell. And as far as combining them, well:

    The current "Match Making" forum is used for local discussions for organising meets, gatherings, play sessions, general banter, etc, etc. These are usually intended for the respective local audience.

    "Tournaments and Events" are for public announcements, be it Tournament or Event. These are usually intended for the wider community (national or international).

    The purposes for each forum are clear and seperate enough to warrant their own forum. Combining both would mean we'd have to filter the threads ourselves, and given the traffic generated from "Match Making" alone, this could be tedious.

    I'm going to open a poll soon to help decide if "Match Making" should be renamed. Here are the suggestions I'm considering so far.

    Match Making
    Match Finder
    Versus City
    Challenge Finder
    Challenge Seeker
    Meets and Gatherings
    Local Gatherings
    Local
    Challenger City
    Jamboree

    If you have any other suggestions, let me know in this thread. Only serious suggestions, please.

    Oh, my bad - I confused the forum with "Tournaments and Events" and "Tournament Results" forums; I actually meant combining THESE two.

    As for the new name for Match Making, I'd say out of all you wrote "Versus City" seems best, it's the most neutral and the "versus" in the name says it all.
