Shame we played on those old TVs with terrible sound.

Tourney started around 8ish then finals held up due to conference room closing at 12:30AM. They were played later in Cozby's room after 2AM.

Footage recorded of Losers Final and Grand Final by Technical Monkey. I'll try to get media from him and post up ASAP.

this wasn't sucha good experience. but at least i didn't pay $20 for the venue fee...

 

The tournament area for VF may have been shit but at least hanging in the hotel room was nice.

We also got a tour of the philadelphia airport thanks to my excellent navigational abilities.

 

I'm too distinctive for my own good. I'm the type security will question immediatley upon eye contact. The hotel was nice, vf is dead but its attracting stranger folk. I kinda feel bad for tricky and happy cuz I know they really haven't been out to play all that much. We gotta set up something better for ourselves. Shit I could run something better out of my basement. Prob won't tho

On a more positive note, I think we all agree vf has a new mascot. Thx tricky! I was a bit skeptical but man that poodle was friggin awesome.

I had a lot of fun, in spite of the awful setups. They should secured us at least one decent tv. The sad thing is, we would have been better off if we had just played all the games in two hotel rooms; the setups would have been way better and we wouldn't have had to pay the venue fee. NEC provided no service to us worth paying for. And, though I believe in peace and am oppossed to violence against women... I wanted to bludgeon that girl with the bullhorn.

It was really cool to hang out with everyone and the games were fun... even though I felt severely impaired from having taken the LSAT that morning, and I had severe lag withdrawal. My favorite is my new Jeff Combo: 6k ---> just stand there because you inputted shit waaay to early. I think the fact that I was sooo exhausted made it a little more fun because I was almost like mentally punch drunk and slap happy or something. Anyway, thanks to everyone who came!

 

Good job Denaki, Cidkid and Flash. Thanks for coming guys it was great seeing all of you again.

And as for the setup, that's your own fault for not coming to me about it. I can't help you guys out if you don't talk to me. I had a couple extra tv's on the other side of the room not being used, I could've swapped them.

 

Oy. I assumed that that was the best available. Oh well...

It was still great to see everybody and to meet the guys I hadn't met before - Tricky, Cozby, Johoseph, Cidkid... And my wife was awesome... signing me up for the tourney while I was playing casuals and hanging out with everybody. I am glad I shrugged off the snow and drove out there.

 

See, my feeling is that that is covered under Happy Friend's idea of service.

Yeah I'm glad you did make it Aaron. Despite being tired I thought you played pretty well during the tournament. Awesome wife you have there man! It's great seeing a woman / man being supportive of their significant other no matter what type weird or awkward situation it is. While her name eludes me at the moment I had a great time chit chatting with her about the game. Best wishes to the both of you bro.

It was really awesome to see everyone again and put faces to people like Tricky etc. Although it was great seeing everyone again the highlight of the trip for me was meeting Fuufi Viper (don't know spelling)... man that dog is the shit! I don't think I have ever had a dog roll up to me on 2's and ask for a hand shake and then proceed to stay on 2's and walk around the room to great everyone else. Really it was amazing to see!

LOL at them NOT wanting to finish playing at the end. That shit was sooo funny. Then they realized that they couldn't play in the morning. Never seen a tournament finals where the players were half-asleep.

Also thanks to Blackula for showing me good Tekken play. It's about damn time we met. Also, thanks for the humbling by Rod and Flash. I'm still gonna hate on Denkai and Cidkid though. Denkai yo feet stank. Cidkid needs to take off his suit and tie sometimes. He's smart tho.

 

yeah don't let the big muscles and relaxed persona fool ya... that dude is a serious nerd! LOL I found that out walking to the Javitt center with him during the WCG finals. There is mad knowledge in that large melon of his.

I want to preface this with, I really enjoyed meeting the crew and playing everyone (for the most part I missed playing a few of you but I'll get you next time)

What do you mean that's our own fault? NEC knows what TV's are being set up where. I'm sorry if I expect an organization to know what equipment it has before it sends it out.

We have to choose between a TV that had horrible sound but a clear picture or a TV that had horrible visuals but you could hear. Really I can see no excuse for that, test your shit before you put it out there.

I agree with Happy friend here in that we would have been better off running NEC for VF in our own rooms. They were next to each other, we basically ran the tournament for ourselves, and it would have been free *fist shake at flash*.

On a sad note I would not have gotten all the fly hunnies I got with my dog in our rooms so there was a plus side to this.
