Need help/IRC problem...

Hey fellas

Can anyone explain to me why I am no longer able to go into efnet?

I try my local server..it has IRC unresolved...
I use the chicago server...(I have been using this for mths)
Suddenly...it's banned me...
There is not a efnet server That I can use.
Either I am Dlined, banned or I am told I do not have authorization...

WHY>???~~~~

you didn't pull a Chanchai and type in something like:

/mode #vfhome +i...

did you? /versus/images/icons/tongue.gif

Ooooohhhhh..... I know what it is.... you hit the tilde (~) limit on EFnet. That's gotta be it/versus/images/icons/smile.gif

And I seriously conjured up two possibilities~~!

Though the tilde one is rather remote. But you never know... maybe EFnet feels that all of your tilde signs are costing them more bandwidth than my two sentences per 3 second rate of typing/versus/images/icons/tongue.gif

Anyways... Hmm... sounds like you answered your question though. You may have been banned (been there, sucked, publicly humiliated, etc...). Oddly enough, #vfhome has been opless the last few days I've checked so it's most likely something to do with the EFnet servers. Guess they saw Crocodile Dundee in LA and decided to ban the aussies.

You probably just got DSL or cable modem huh?

and
irc.emory.edu

you may need to install an ident server

many efnet servers will ban you, usually cause of a firewall issue. This isnt a permanent ban at all though.
