    Hi all,
Need some help with joystick issue. Recently found some rust forming on the metal stick. Anyone have any good tips in removing it?

    Suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

    Thank.

It is just surface rust? If so, pull the stick apart and give it a good sanding down to remove the majority or if possible, all of the rust, then apply some sort of rust preventative, then primer and then a coat of paint.

It's unusual that it's rusting, most sticks are coated pretty well.

if its just surface rust and theres not too much of it I suggest using steel wool. Sand paper will scratch it up pretty badly while steel wool will just take off the rust and polish it. afterwards coat it with some type of rust prevention, otherwise if its a sanwa shaft you can buy a replacement from lizard lick.com

Thank you Dreamcazam & Gl0ry! I have 2 joystick both with the same issue. I use rust removal spray on both of them. Manage to remove and save 1. The other that is quite bad, I use steel wool to remove it, but I think the coating is gone. Thanks again guys!
