I am building a system around intel's new cpu. I ordered the core duo. I am looking for an nvidia graphics card and still need to select a mother board. Anybody have any recomendations? I'd like to get an SLI capable mobo.

They don't offer Core-Duo w/ SLI just yet. I really like their stuff. I don't overclock or anything. I put together an MSI P4 2.4gHz w/ RDRAM (don't laugh - I just guessed wrong) quite a few years back and have had no problems in the way of crashing or instability.

I plan to do a new machine sometime next year (I've been waiting for a 1 GB video card). I'm going with MSI as far as I know.

well, if possible, for mobo and both video cards, maybe about 1k, if possible to go a bit under that though.

A thousand USD just for videocards and mobo? That's going a bit overboard, but ok... I recommend Gigabyte's mobos, they offer plenty of SLI models, you can't really go wrong with their products, unless you're planning to overclock. For video, I'd say 2x 7950 GT with 512 MB each... 7950 GX2 are too pricey for now. Be aware that most stuff doesn't really make good use of newest Nvidia cards, and it'll be some time before it does. Also you might consider waiting for a DX10 cards next year. :p

I heard the 7900's actually out perform the 7950s in most areas and ar cheaper. I can't really wait until next year as my pc is now dying a horrible death.

I do plan on overclocking my cpu and also the video cards, any recomendations with that in reguards to a mobo?

They don't really "outperform" the 7950s, only is some games which cannot use the 7950's power in full. The difference between 7900 (slower) and 7950 (faster) can be clearly seen In higher resolutions and graphics settings.

I can't point to any specific hardware, but there's plenty of stuff available on the web. Read up the reviews on Gigabyte mobos, some BIOSes are easier, more overclocking-friendly than others. If you really want to overclock, get an underclocked card, like 7900 GT. /versus/images/graemlins/wink.gif I've got a 7900 GT with 256 MB onboard, 2 GB of RAM and Athlon 64 CPU, and I can run all the new games in higher resolutions without problem (with the exception of Gothic III, but the game's bugged and apparently not tested at all with 7-series cards).
