New day, New Game, New Fighters...Maybe?

Hi y'all, is me again, THE FIST!
Anyway, lol. Talking to folks at NYG7, people seem very "AMP" for VF5:R. And some are really considering picking up new characters all together, or really excited to play with their "improved" main(El Blaze!)Or go back to their past favorites(Sarah, I miss you!)I'm going with Jacky(He has the "Enter The Dragon" combo, c'mon! I have to)And as a sub....My baby girl Sarah. I miss her. Blaze and Jacky are going to be my main's. As for my boy Wolf, he's beyond my main, he's my G.O.D. Over rules all of them, lol.
*Please, don't turned this into a console debate, just explain why you might switch or stay with the same*

 

Is it wrong to pick a character because they have the best intros? Brad electric boogaloo FTMW

 

I main Aoi and Akira in VF5, but switching to Aoi and Jean in VF5R!

I picked Aoi and Akira mainly because I always main a badass dude and a female in the cast. I'm switching to Jean in R because I hate how they're constantly making Akira easier to play. It takes all the fun out of it. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif

 

I'm the same way, Dango. I need a female into the mix. That's why I'm going back to Sarah. I felt of playing with her in VF5 compare to VF4:FT. That's why I give props to, Slide for controlling her that why. I feel like I'm fighting in mud with her on VF5.

 

No switch for me. I've been playing AK for so long now his moves and setups are permanently etched into my brain. I just can't get on with other characters, and end up doing his moves knowing i'm playing with a different character! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif
He's still the daddy though and I can't wait for R.

 

I'm gonna stick with Akira since I'm still learning him...I guess 'easier to play him in R' is a good thing for me, but it feels a bit like a cheat being able to do so much quick damage; although, it seems this is the case with everyone so I guess it don't matter.

Definitely wanna pick up Jean though...I be lovin the Karate style.

Another addition that I'm already starting to get into is Jacky...it amazes me how much his style of play and flow (outside the movelist) actually feels like Jeet Kun Do.

And although their are some characters that I don't think I will ever really learn...I love seeing their new stuff and find myself geting Xited with things like Wolf's new half-wall throw "MUUUAHHHH....THE END" BAMMM!! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

 

All the characters look good in in VF5R. I would actually want to play more than half the cast!

If I am to be realistic, Lau will still be my main with Wolf a close secondary.

I am very interested in Jean - as most people here I guess - and would like to give it another shot with Jacky, Goh and Aoi.

Of course I'll try playing with everyone else too and see how they feel in this new iteration of VF /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

 

I'm looking forward to everything except Wolf losing his 3P+K.

As for characters, I'll likely stick with who I know and learn enough of Jean and Taka to be able to playa against them.

 

I'll keep Wolf and Brad as my mains probably, so no change here.
I don't know about my subs though (Vanessa, Lei), I'll change them almost for sure.
Jean seems great, but the more I watch Taka, the more I want to try him out /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Seidon, no problem with Wolf losing his /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif, now he's got more than ever so I'm not complaining /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif

 

Definitely sticking with Shun and Blaze, though I'm definitely gonna play with Jean too. No intention of using him as a replacement, but I can definitely see him as a secondary.

Other secondaries will probably include Pai (finally, some creativity!), Eileen (mix-up madness!), Lion (not sure about this one, he might bother me lol), Wolf (gotta love the move names, and move alterations), and Taka (270/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif ftw).

That said, I'm definitely playing with EVERYONE. Jacky is way stylish, i LOVE the changes to Kage, Sarah is a wicked leg machine (<3), Jeffry is a total mad-dog, Akira is all over the place, Lau's Kokei modifications makes him a monster... etc etc. Too effin cool yo.

I'm still waiting to get a feel for all the characters when (if) I get my hands on the game. That said, Brad's new combos look wicked, wall throw is awesome and his 2P killer Ducking P+K looks to be almost as badass as Wolf's 9P+K but... after seeing all the new stuff added to stances like Threat Stance, Rocket Discharge and Kokei I can't help but wish that Phasing Turn got some new "hotness".
Lau might become my main since Kokei looks so damn vicious now.
But Taka might be up my alley (love his stance).

 

I've mained, at one point or the other in VF5, Akira, El Blaze, Goh and Lion...

I can't imagine not trying them all out if I actually had the game at home on my XBOX. Maybe I would end up loving a character I'd never though of using before. VF5R is probably the best fighting game in existence right now, we better get to play it.

I can't imagine lei not being my main, but you never know. I am definitely interested in getting my hands on TAKA. (i guess i'm the only person on here that has no interest in Jean....another story for another day).

 

Ok, ok, I'll will try Lei in R, that's a promise. I want to be the next VFnumbers!!!

Anyone heard anything about TGS? I didn't see R on the list that I was able to find...

 

I　will pick Jean to my main(might be sub-main).

Im gonna use Jean for my main until go back to Japan, then switch to Shun. I mean Jean might be my main in usa, and shun will be my main in Japan for sure.

 

My thoughts now are it will be between Vanessa, Jacky and Jean. I won't be able to decide until I play the game.

 

Sticking with Goh. I want to pick up 1 or 2 other characters but have no idea who yet.

I hear Jean is MAD easy to play though.

 

You will have a multi-country character use contingency plan?

 

Whenever I go to Japan I know that Dural will be my main, so I can't really blame him.

 

i'm keeping eileen as my main just cuz I'm so psyched about all her new choices she's going to have. The alts of mine are going to shift about in terms of how I rank them. Right now I "CAN" play with everyone but I'm def better with some more so than others, so who moves to my #2 spot will depend on who I end up playing the best with. I've been tooling around with jeff lately so he might become #2 dunno
